She is a serial killer and a serial killer is obviously a psychopath who kills people for what ever reason they consider..
Her being a killer is what the drama is about ? Or did you jump into the drama to watch only moral characters without any grey shades…..

Just watch a drama with fresh mind without any comparisons to any other series ,it’s not like the production department gave a statement that its a remake of some hit series…it’s just our own assumptions because it’s similar to something that doesn’t mean it’s a copy of the original and the characters need to be compared in every single episode…….

Points why one could think the king already knows that the CP is his daughter.
1) When the grandmother appointed the CP a bodyguard the king rushed into her and said "I will take care about the matters regarding the CP" which is not usual at the situation
2) He loved and adored the real CP when in his childhood as we saw in initial eps but suddenly changed his nature towards the current CP being neglectful, rude and not having faith in her.
3) As today episode showed, the king seems to not like the CP's cruel grandfather and ignored him when walking bc he may know that he was the one who ordered to kill Dami but accidently lost the real CP.
4) Again as today episode showed, during the conversation between her and the king she stated that the king opposed her to be the CP even though she was the who really has to be without any doubt and when she asked the reason for it his face was panicked and confused.

No I think she is putting them to have a voice not against her grand child lee hwi but more for her son's favor…
The queen dowager as of now is in neutral position. It’s not that she is against Lee Hwi,it’s just that she wants Lee Hwi’s maternal grand dad to support the king more openly whenever possible. The grand dad gets pissed off after she made the request because the grand dad and the current king are at odd’s with each other for some unknown reason mostly because of how much power the grand dad has. So in retort he indirectly points her out recruiting some officials by reservations with her support and asks her to work out on her justification behaviour.
Even though in front the royal family is above all, the real power always lies with the noble families. They can make or break the king with political alignments.
In this drama the king maker is LeeHwi’s grand dad ,that’s the reason the queen dowager can’t do anything to him even though he raises his voice against her and the current king can’t really go against the grand dad’s power.
For example the Ming’s envoy is secretly in collaboration with the grand dad but is acting all rude to the royal family…
That itself shows how much of power the grand dad has.
EP 7 I loved the politics on this episodes lmaoo MY MOUTH DROPPED WHEN LEE HWI'S GRANDAD EVEN DARED TO SAY 'YOU…
Unless and until her grand dad cause something like coup or treason to the royal family ,there are very low chances that Lee hwi’s grand dad will be executed and their family to loose grip in the royal politics ….which is very unlikely Eg:- Mr.Queen…
1) Female lead cross dressing (hidden identity) in palace. 2) Three male leads protecting the heroine .Out of which - a) one is a prince b) one is a noble lord c) one is a bodyguard 3)Martially good bodyguard who doesn’t talk much but also has some ulterior work . 4)An evil envoy from Ming who creates threat to the crown Prince regarding a matter involving a female dancer during his welcome ceremony.. 5) Supportive ,cute and bubbly Eunuch. 6)Evil step mother queen who wants to eliminate the crown Prince 7) Moody and uncaring king /father

I don’t know if you’ll agree with this, but for me FLOWER OF EVIL was also a dark themed drama ,even though there were other genres including ….all the bad activities from episode 1 to end were dark .
