I don’t know ,, until now I thought Nabi was also equally responsible to get close to JaeEon ….but watching this episode I feel she is not at fault,I mean can a woman resist the charms of the man who is so good at making her feel special..

His every single action and word feels so real as if he is so into her…as we viewers know him before hand we can say that he is playing her good…

But just stand in the place of Nabi and think ….is it possible to reject the advances of that guy when clearly she is made to believe as if he has feelings towards her……

He is so gentle and tender towards her……

Girl I know he got you with his sweet talk but please open your eyes…. I think I’m the one whose getting more anxious for you…

Some strong female leads according to me

1) Strong willed but soft personality :-

My Ajusshi
Mother
Because this is my first life
One spring night ( unshakable once a decision is taken )
Run On (main FL)
Healer
Rookie historian
Encounter
Crash Landing on you (main FL)
Mine (both the female leads)
Tell me what you saw ( main FL)
Avengers Social Club
Birth Care centre
Hye,bye mama
Hospital playlist
V.I.P
The last empress
Her Private Life
It’s okay that’s love
Age of youth
Voice
The beauty inside (both the FL’s)
I hear your voice
LiveOn
Kairos
Father is strange

2) Strong willed and badass personality :-

WWW
Nobody knows
Mr.Sunshine
Graceful family
Stranger
Hyena
Mr.Queen (subjective)
Vincenzo
Flower of the Evil
Kill it
Angry mom
Secret boutique
Run on (second FL)
Hotel del Luna
K2 (the step mother)
Yong Pal
Doctors
Crash landing on you (second FL)
Big Issue
Spring turns to spring
Into the ring
Who are you : school 2015 (the twin sister)
Signal
Tell me what you saw ( second FL)

NOTE:

1) I wouldn’t consider Strong woman Do Bong-Soon and Weightlifting fairy Kim Bok-joo as strong personalities ..They just have strong physical strengths with cute personalities .….

2) SKY CASTLE ..Even though the female leads were strong willed their personalities were variable and volatile according to the circumstances….none of the characters were consistent enough to set a good example …

3)World of the Married - Strong but at the same time she was so desperate to take her revenge that she lost her cool and reasonable behaviour many times….
I mean how could one have a reunion session with your ex husband who is a pathological liar and cheater just in the heat of the moment …
Her son’s decision was reasonable enough in the end to leave his crazy parents who don’t even know what they want…

4) May be I’m the only one who wanted Ji Chang Wook to end up with the Stepmother in K2…
Yoon Ah’s character was so poorly written and a mess to watch

Well written article, I really enjoyed reading it!! I haven’t watch True Beauty yet because of its message,…
If you want a recommendation to watch true beauty….
I would say please don’t….unless you are into high school dramas wanting two guys fight for a clueless low self esteemed girl ….

They wanted to portray as puppy love but rather it turned out to be pity love 💗

I can't agree with you completely. Yes for Ko Moon Young and Yi Seo they may be obsessive but isn't drama all…
But I didn’t like the fact that these characters are shown to be mighty and high that they many times have behaved crudely
Ok fine ! if we consider it as their flaws but as a counter measure they should have apologised at the very least ..
Especially YiSeo she didn’t even apologise to anyone for her hurtful remarks

Even though it’s fictional ,they should have shown a scene with her apologies rather than brushing past because it’s her character flaw

When the world is trying to change in a broader sense it’s highly irritating to see comical depictions or hurtful remarks against homosexuality and racism….

For the ending of true beauty, I always thought it would be good if she didn't end up with any of the male leads,…
No I agree with you …
In true beauty self love should have been prioritised rather than her ending up with the leads, it would have been more meaningful if the 3 ended up as good friends…
Even honestly I don’t see what Su ho and Seo jun saw in her …..

I am no one to condemn your comment…But I think fantasy should be something different not based on real life…
Exactly that’s my point even without any fictional love story there are many people who like to romanticise characters with red flag signs…..

And if the media tries to portray a romantic angle with a comfortable fictional ending … it’s just like a justification to their actions…

I’m not against portraying a movie or drama with someone like Ted Bundy as central point, but the problem arises when they show something out of reality…..if the story follows normal consequences it would more helpful in social education …..

I agree normal and abnormal is something subjective but at the same time we can’t justify a gruesome action to be portrayed as a normal action just because it’s fiction…

I don’t know whether I’m able to convey my opinion because I’m not as good as you are but I do like your thoughts on this 😊

I think rather than always expecting fantasy to reflect reality 100%, we need to focus on teaching society how…
I am no one to condemn your comment…

But I think fantasy should be something different not based on real life struggles….where there should be an upbringing in thought process of viewers because who knows there might be someone taking an example from it .

Not all can have maturity levels to differentiate good from bad..

Like for example what if there comes a drama showing fantasy love story of a psychopath or a serial killer ….finally getting his happy ending with his counter part understanding his reasons for his actions..

Even though 99 of us know that it’s not acceptable in real world but what if a wrong person is triggered unknowingly…..

That’s the point of this article I guess…..

OMG OMG OMG
THANK YOU
You have finally put the words I wanted to express so bad
I finally have someone sharing the same thoughts as mine

When I read your article I just released a big breath of relief because the above mentioned 3 female characters are my least favourite and that’s the reason I couldn’t enjoy the drama wholeheartedly

Exactly my thoughts ….spot on..honey!

I loathed these 3 women characterisations especially Ju Gyeong’s from true beauty

Korean dramas depict as if the citizen from Korea are so shallow minded that all they care about is social ladder based on external beauty and high profile families…

It’s so sick to see that the k- parents are so bended on making a model child ,and they simply can’t accept a normal child ….

I mean how is it possible? You should accept a person how he is with his flaws ,, how can a person be perfectly perfect ?

I could endure the drama - true beauty , only because of the second lead .
Even My ID gangnam beauty is so bad in characterisation

I understand that the female lead has a pressure to get a plastic surgery because of the society and more over she is a teenager who is still in learning process…..But what’s wrong with her mother ?? How could she agree with her daughter getting a plastic surgery…? Then what’s the point of being a mother …she should have moulded her thought process and should have boosted up her inner confidence rather than going for a surgery to thrive in this world.

I don’t know if Korean parents are really stereotypically backward in thought process or it’s just dramas are glorifying the parents in such a way for their content ….

Even though the female lead in Iteawon class is portrayed to be strong but for me she rather an obnoxious opportunistic obsessive character who simply can’t take a no …

If it’s a no , then it’s a No…. whether it’s a woman or a man ….

She outrageously uses the second lead without any remorse for her own benefits knowing his interest in her…
That’s wrong according to me ….from that moment I lost interest in the drama.

For once if we reverse the roles and take a look ?

Can we accept a male who uses a female lead for his personal benefits in any drama , no right ?
Then how can people justify her behaviour in this dramas

Double standard Womanists…..….

Thanks for posting this article!
A big thumbs up!!

Even though Kluen Cheewit is a bit cliche but none the less it set a bench mark for Lakhorns….,
There is still no Lakhorn that matches this ..

But Sotus series is also a good drama which can be a part of your above list…

Title Mine
As with the MIL… she was the only one who knew about HyeJin and I think the chairman too.. but i would say he…
According to his personality , if we observe the dog ring fight he manipulated the brothers go against each other for money , that was one example we know — in the similar way he must have thought he could control both Ha joon’s birth and adoptive mother and if in case things got out he could make these ladies fight against each other for him and his son , as both Hi Seo and Hye Jin love the father and son…
He didn’t think that Hyejin and Hi Seo would join hands to end him ….lol
Poor one ….wish he didn’t die because I wanted to see his downfall in the company meeting scheduled where votings go in favour of Soe hyun….
Would love to watch him getting back stabbed by every one in the meeting…..

Title Mine Spoiler
Can someone explain to me why Ji Yong tried to fake HaJoon’s birth mother as dead in the first place.
It doesn’t make sense because I think his family were not against their relationship to begin with
More over his marriage with HiSeo was also not a business marriage , to think he did it for power because HiSeo did say clearly that she was poor compared to Ji Yong and they married coz of love….
Okay fine , but after 6 years why did he even bring her back and what’s with the deal in the beginning with the mother- in - law …..? He telling the mother in law that he would make Ji Ho chairman if she allowed Le Hye Jin back into the mansion as if she was the one against their relationship. ? *rolling eyes*
He clearly had no intention in divorcing Hi Seo even before knowing she was pregnant with his child.
He was dare enough to place HaJoon’s birth mother in his house , he must have thought he could control Hi Seo ?

I mean all his actions doesn’t make any sense….?

I think they were the only plot holes in this drama , other than that the drama was kicking from 4 th episode on wards …..
