The last 2 episodes were confusing for me . We do get why Tilan did what she did . She did to save her homeland…
Based on some interview things, the actor that played the king said his dilemma is that he DOES like Tilan (they have the same face, how could he not fall in love?), but he can't accept it because if he succumbs to it, then he feels like he is betraying Zizan (his empress). I think that's why he keeps pushing her away (queue choking her and giving her impossible demands), but at the same time he cares about her safety (like when she injured her hand while doing the wood carving things, he went to the doctor's place to see how bad her injuries were, and then he also allowed her to go back to the palace).
