GUYS,,IF YOU FEEL CONFUSED,DO NOT PASS ON THIS POST.Well elaborated.I am not one to comment anywhere but this,,,oh…
Thank you! English is not my first language and I still struggle speaking it sometimes, so I'm happy you liked my comment, it kinda validates my writing. And don't hesitate to add me and message me if you want anything (recs, analysis, etc. (even though you watched way more things than me, so I may not be the best for recommendations...)). Anyways, hope you have a nice day <333

What I think about some contestants.

Those I like and will vote for:

Yuju : ALL THE WAY. SHE'S A F*CKING ACE YALL. BEST CONTESTANT ON THE SHOW.

Gyuri : Yessss. I still haven't changed my mind on her, she's the little pumpkin pie we need. She sings like an angel, she has so much potential, why wouldn't I love her. Literally.

Minsol : Same as Gyuri, but she's not as good as of now. I do believe she'll get better overtime though. And she's also my cutie pie. Love her so much.

Others I may vote for :

Jeemin : She's good, tbh she's kinda bland to me but at least she's not bad so we'll see.

Sujung : She's really cool, and she's a great dancer so that's a plus. Personally, I value vocals more than dance so I believe she still needs to train, but we saw in episode 7 how she improved, I'm not scared about her at all.

Koko : She didn't catch my eyes at all until this episode. I feel she's a good dancer and can improve even more, we didn't see a lot of her vocals though.

Yui : She didn't leave a big impression on me, but she did good in her performances and she has a positive attitude. She seems like a cool person overall.

Opinion on other contestants (I-Landers and Grounders)

Jungeun : Tbh, I feel like her vocals are a bit overrated. I don't think she sings THAT well, like her singing was a bit strained in IWALY and she kinda sings nasally, plus her vocal tone is not that great. We'll see about her later.

Saebi : I love her sm. She's quite all-rounder, and she has a positive attitude. Her friendship with Jeemin is so- (they make me think of K and Taki 🥺)

Sarang : YESSS. That girl is so good, I love her so much, she literally can do anything and is an awesome person. Yes.

Fuko : She's a fan favorite, and for a good reason. She's simply amazing.

Lingling : I don't get why people vote for her. Pretty visuals? I mean she did good in IWALY (tbh she did better than Jungeun, she should have won) but she's really not that good...

Mai : I don't like her. Sorry. I just don't get the hype. Her singing feels like ear torture to me because she doesn't sing in her range and she has so much nasality, I don't know if she dances that well (can't judge of that), she isn't that much an amazing person... yeah, no.

Other contestants I didn't mention, either I forgot about them or they didn't leave a good impression on me.

Exactly. It's either they want full on toxic couples with no redemption, or healthy couples, and whenever it's in between (couples with toxicity but they try to be better) it's necessarily trash. What's seriously bothering me is that they don't understand that TOXICITY.IS.NOT.ROMANTIC. And couples that start being toxic and then work out their shit are an example to follow, and not something that entraves their romanesque feelings... I live under the motto to not watch a show if the characters are toxic unless it's to show how they get better over time or if it's to portray toxicity itself, not if they try to say the toxicity in the couple is romance ar spice, because it isn't.

Absolutely agreed. I mean there are some bls where you can do that, but they should at least take it into consideration when they rate the show whether y
they actually "watched" it or just "saw" it. And the main couple is so far from boring, it makes me laugh when people say that and then seconds later say they're too toxic... 🤨 Like, pick a side dude

No, because seriously most people in this comment section condone before understanding what's really happening, and I believe they just don't see further than the bad acts they do and not their redemption... this is definitely not one of those shows where you can just turn your brain off, you need to pay attention or it'll seem different than the reality. Anyways, thank you if you liked my review, it makes me really happy💖

THIS IS A REALLY LONG PARAGRAPH FULL OF SPOILERS. YOU'VE BEEN WARNED

It wasn't as bad as some people say. The major turn-off for most people is the unsolved internalized homophobia and the violent approaches of Taeyi and JooHa. However, I think those people didn't analyse enough to see they actually had character developpement.

Taeyi and Jooha only verbally apologized once each other for their acts, which were terrible. Only, I do think they were trying to redeem tthemselves. It's not hard to see that both Taeyi and Jooha have mental issues. Taeyi has unsolved trauma because of his brother's passing which makes him hate Seheon because he reminds him of his brother, which triggers his internalized trauma. Jooha has some problem too which makes him valorise himself through violence, degrading people (Doyoon, per example) and he has some overprotective feelings for his sister which causes him to hate Taeyi for hurting his sister. Both of them have a big problem with internalized homophobia, respecting other people's limits and showing their emotions and apologizing when they're wrong.

Those saying there was almost no character developpement are completely wrong or didn't pay enough attention. You can see both of them being completely closed up at first, hidden behind a mask they created to protect themselves. The simple fact that they were able to apologize already shows a lot, because to apologize you need to be able to take a step back, analyse what you did wrong based on your emotions and values, and express it to the person you caused trouble to. For both of them, that must have been hard to do and shows that they actually evolved. Also, for people like them, it is especially hard to apologize verbally or directly, but sometimes there are other ways to do so. Actions, non-verbal communication... They both are not yet at the stage where they can express themselves clearly enough to be understood, so maybe it's easier for them to apologize indirectly.

Per example : at episode 7, Taeyi SA Seheon. The day after, they meet in the practice room and Taeyi plays piano next to Seheon. He then apologizes, and then they make up. Those saying a verbal apology is not enough, or that Seheon is too naive and shouldn't have forgiven him, went completely out of the way. Yes SA is inacceptable, always, but in this case it's a bit different. We're talking about mentally unstable characters and their loved ones. Seheon loves Taeyi and understands that something is off about him, but won't push too far because he knows that's not how it works (he apologized for kissing Taeyi in episode 6 without asking first, because he understands that people have limits, and that Taeyi especially, needs things to go at a rhythm he can follow). So seeing Taeyi apologize, even though he didn't explain himself yet, is enough for him. He knows that whenever Taeyi is ready, he will open up to him, and is just waiting for that moment to happen without pushing him.

Them playing piano together also shouldn't be forgotten. Taeyi is a trumpettist, not a pianist. The pianist in his family was his brother, not him. Him playing piano shows he opens a part of him he tries to suppress for 2 years. He's defenseless, and Seheon sees it. They communicate through music. Even if you have no musical intelligence you can see the sorrow, the love and the regret in his playing. Seheon can see that too, and it's enough for him. He can wait. After their "breakup" in episode 8, you can see the despair in his eyes, and when he learns the truth everything disappears from his mind, the only thing that matters is finding Seheon, hugging Seheon and comforting Seheon, even though he was in the right to be destroyed too, I mean he learned new information about his brother's death. Only, in that moment, nothing else mattered but the person he cared about most. His shell weaked enough that he could let someone in for the first time.

As for Jooha and Doyoon, they explored it less, and for them it's not as fast and easy than Taeyi and Seheon. We can see some in episode 7, when Jooha asks Doyoon to stop ignoring him. He shows him that he regrets it even though he's the one that wanted it. And then he hugs Doyoon. While doing that he still is verbally mean, shouts and acts homophobic when Doyoon wants to hug him, but as I said it's harder for them (Jooha has more mixed feelings and has more trouble identifying what's happening in his head, especially when it comes to Doyoon, than Taeyi). That was the first step. Later when they play basketball together, you can see he's trying to redeem himself, but for Jooha it's harder to drop the mask he built, so he keeps acting mean and injurious. In episode 8, he joins the practice with everyone, and he apologises to Seheon, because Doyoon is not the only one he hurt. He's opened enough to apologise and to show, even a tiny bit, of his emotions. And I believe in the future he will be able to do it even more. because thankfully, he's got Doyoon by his side, who won't let him go ever ever ever (he's quite literally the clingy, silly, positive and smiley bf Jooha needs to break the iron shell he built).

In the end, they're both like injured wild animals. They are not comfortable when in captivity and they spit at the face of everyone, including those helping them, because they don't know how to protect themselves, to keep control and they can't have trust in humans. It will take time to tame them and make them trust humans, and meanwhile, they're still hurting inside. And yes, until they're healed, they will still act mean even to those that matter to them. Both characters still need to work on themselves, they need therapy and they need support from those close to them until they can achieve that.

However, saying they didn't do any progress is plain wrong, and ignorant of the time it can take for one to completely heal, especially when you have to do so in 8 episodes of 30 minutes... (Personally, I believe the premise was good and deserved more screentime, but KBLs seem to follow the 8 episodes of 30 min a lot. What can we do...) Instead, I believe it's normal both character didn't redeem themselves totally, actually I believe it would have been far more unrealistic if they both became healthy, nice and pacific characters at the end of the show. It takes efforts and time to heal from mental problems, and we are no one to judge the time it can take for one character vs another character to heal. This is not the best show I watched, but it's really not as bad as most people make it seem.

(BTW, thank you if you read all this, I know it's long but what can I do, I had to rant lol <333)

My tops :

1. Yuju : She literally got me in Baggy Jeans, more than Yui or Koko (even though the whole Baggy Jeans team was fire!) and she didn't get in. She's literally an ace and an awesome leader. Plus, She can rap so that's good for the group.
2. Sarang : She got me in episode 3 or so. A wonderful, kind and nice person with beautiful vocals and good dancing. What else do we need.
3. Fuko : Do I need to explain myself. She's already a fan favorite and it's for a good reason. She's versatile, can sing really well and dance well too, she's nice and literally brought the Bad Boy team for a win.
4. Gyuri : My little pumpkin pie <333 She can sing, she's the cutest little girl ever, she carried Like Ooh Ahh on her back because the leader couldn't even though she's only 15 and she has so much potential for growth.

Others that I like (No particular order)

- Jeemin : I didn't watch R U NEXT but I can see she should've debuted. A gem fr
- Sujung : She's cool af, she can dance and choreograph, she can sing and she has an amazing personality
- Yui : She's cool. At first I was upset she stole Yuju's part but she slayed so I'm not mad anymore. And she seems like a nice person.
- Jungeun : She has amazing vocals. I don't think she did a good job as a leader in ep. 1 but I mean that's not made for everybody and she was forced to be a leader because she ranked 1st.
- Saebi : Her and Jeemin have the cutest friendship (they made me think of Taki and K from the first season, I you watched it) Plus Saebi is skilled and would never drag her team down. She's amazing
- Minsol : I'm biased. I know. And while she may not have the skills to debut yet she definitely has potential for growth and has a positive attitude about the future. I couldn't want more (She's my second cutie pie with Gyuri. I love them both sm)

This... It was cute, i guess. I understand why some people says it was boring. Honestly, it took me more than 2 weeks to finish it. The episodes are long and the story progress really slowly. The last few episodes were better than the first. We kind of are stuck in their friendship for so long, i started to think that maybe they would never be a couple and this was just a bromance lol. And Eiw is kind of annoying... He's quite self-centered, and he's pretty slow honestly. They say he's innocent but I say he's just dumb. How could he not see that cake likes him? And he's annoying for how he blamed his father. I mean, he has all the reason to blame his father, he was totally in the wrong but him saying that he didn't quit smoking because he didn't love him is really ignorant. He doesnt understand what addiction can do to a person, and he thinks the world revolves around him. And at his mother's death, he won't stop crying, which is totally understandable, but next to him you see his siblings which retain to cry because of him, like it's their job to be HIS emotional support, like they are not their mothers children too... I get that he's younger but still... Finally, he confessed when cake was extremely drunk, pretty stupid of him. Bro, cake literally couldn't walk three seconds before and he's like, yeah, well, I'm gonna tell him how i feel right now, because it's definitely the good time to do so when he cannot think clearly, ya know. Like imagine he woke up the next day to see that cake forgot everything that happened because he was too drunk and they go back to be friends? Anyways, this was still a pretty good show. Ep. 12 last scene : 0 I got chills... It's nice when cake talks in English. Quite cute, but pretty long. I guess it would be good to binge watch on a weekend maybe. But there were some scenes that made me cringe inside. I give it a 7,5/10

OMG My top made it! I voted for Jay, Kamden and Seung Eon every day, and they all made it! Jay, Seung Eon, Kamden, Zhang Hao, SHanbin, Matthew, Gun Wook...The only ones in my top 9 that didn't make it were Seo Won, Woong Ki and Ollie😥. I'm really glad I voted for Kamden cause he's 18th place and might have not debuted. Now, I'm gonna focus on Jay and Seung Eon for them to debut, still can't believe that Jay isn't in the top 9.

For real, like, does the audience have no ears? When he intrduced himself I litteraly screamed, his adlibs are gold. I really cannot understand. To me, he litteraly would be 1st place, he's the one that stood out the best to me and he placed last? wtf TT Jay placing last and Gyuvin first in their respective teams is something I can never understand

I just finished this, and I don't really get the end (just the last scene, the rest, I get it), but like, I don't exactly think it's a sad ending? Like it's definitely not a happy ending, but if the happy ending was Ji Hoon getting saved, then does that mean the happy ending is Jae Woo dying? How could we reach a happy ending in this? For me, this was just a bittersweet ending, but I was ready for it and I enjoyed it (even though I died inside, but well, yeah...)
