Annyeong! Thank you for reading my comment. I also read yours in order to answer to what you wrote. I would like…
The only reason I answer to you, is because you are trying to have a decent conversation with me. That interpretation came from experience, studies and lots of reading.
An independent, emotionally strong woman doesn’t change her mind so easily. This can happen in your 20s and early 30s, but in your late 30s - early 40s, you don’t put such a show, in order to take back what you said later on. That’s the difference you cannot understand yet and I can get it.
In Season 2, there were plenty issues. If someone has studied (and read) Literature, Theater and Cinema can easily see that something is off. I can spot a glitch in the script and I am talking about technical issues here. You are validating your answer by repeating to me about the flashback scene. If you didn’t have that scene, would you say the same?
A flashback scene, is the director’s way to show to the audience what happened in the past. It is a technique primarily used in Literature. I can tell you that they altered the script and gave us this specific flashback, in order to back up their choice. Will you believe it? I doubt.
As I have said in a previous comment, don’t assume you know me, based on a review I wrote. You “felt” that my review was pretty cynical. HP actively promoted strong, resilient, successful and independent women up until a point.
In the end, they told us this wonderful woman doesn’t seem to know her own mind. From what you have seen in Season 1 and 2, Song Hwa this utterly composed woman, who was also a relationship guru, was holding a grudge for over 20 years. That’s why she rejected IJ in the first place. She wanted to teach him a lesson and hurt him in the process, because he hurt her back in their 20s. She then changed her mind, because IJ had an accident.
If you think the plot above describes a strong, resilient, successful and independent woman, you are mistaken. The above arc validates that they have turn SH into a caricature.
In a world full of darkness, as the poet said: “There is a crack, a crack in everything That's how the light gets in…” So, live your life accordingly. I have already chosen how I live mine...

It was the way they crafted the IkJun and SongHwa Arc.
In Season 1, Dr. Ahn Chi-Yong had a crush on his professor Chae Song-Hwa.
Do you remember when SongHwa had a night out with her residents and IkJun was there as well? When Dr. Ahn pressed Dr. Lee Ik-Joon in that “truth or dare” game to tell them if he had a crush on Shwa. If you watch pretty carefully that scene, you will notice that Song-Hwa felt uncomfortable and she was pretty stressed by their little game.
Why? Because they were trying to mark their space for the trophy, aka SH, and she obviously didn’t want their “public” attention.
So, when Dr. Ahn confessed she clearly said to him “No”. The scene where he had his birthday in her car, she cringed because he touched her without consent. She told him verbally “No” , but Dr. Ahn chose to cross the line and touch her in a confined space.
At the same time, Ikjun jealous by the attention SongHwa was getting, made his move not because he truly wanted her, but he had to claim her first, to prevent his rival from doing so. IkJun didn’t know at the time, that ChiYong had made his move twice as well.
In Season 2, Episode 1. Song Hwa stayed at her car and waited IkJun for hours until he finished his surgery in order to talk to him. She was adamant that he shouldn’t confess. If you check her body language, you will notice that she was determined, stressed and rigid. She had made up her mind and she informed IJ about the finite of her answer.
So, for the next 8 episodes SH had him friend zoned.
Consequently, IJ continued to call her names, e.g., piggy, because she was eating fast. Do you think that is acceptable? This is not funny. In your 40s you have other standards for a partner. If you check again those things, you will see that SongHwa gets angry with him.
That’s why, she didn’t let him come near her, when she found out about her mother’s Parkinson diagnosis. He didn’t console her at all. He stayed still, unable to do something for her, except to drive her home and keep everyone at bay. A decision, he took without consulting her first.
I can write more about it, regarding Dr. Ahn Jeong-Won and Dr. Jang Gyeo-Wool’s relationship as well, but I want you, rnikkala9 to understand by yourself, why I am protesting. Because my review is a protest.
Here are some examples of Rape Culture: “Women say “no” when they mean “yes.” Tolerance of sexual harassment Defining “manhood” as dominant and sexually aggressive Defining “womanhood” as submissive and sexually passive Pressure on women to not appear “cold” Harassment, intimidation, forced or coerced isolation from friends and family and having an independent social life, humiliation, threats of harm to you or your family or pets, threats of suicide if you leave, violating your privacy, limiting your independence and personal choices are all examples of abuse.
Hi! I just came across this comment because I was scrolling through the reviews section looking for reviews which…
Annyeong! Thank you for reading my comment. I also read yours in order to answer to what you wrote. I would like to pinpoint that your narrative validates exactly what I am explicating in my review. You seem to be shocked by the usage of the word “rape”, but not from the phrase “rape culture” that describes a phenomenon that is so engraved into our everyday lives and we are unable to understand it, while it is happening in real time! I am at a specific age where I know exactly what I wrote and why. So, please, don’t propose to me, to be more careful with what I am writing. The phenomenon exists and it is exactly as it is. If you don’t want to believe it, it’s okay.
I am not okay, though, with the fact that you are assuming and suggesting that I didn’t know what I was thinking when I was writing this review. I am pretty aware of everything I wrote because as an adult I take full responsibility for my actions.
So, you think that my words did a huge disservice to the writer’s intended intentions? What about the huge disservice ShinLee did to their own selves? What about the huge disservice ShinLee did to their audience, by using their story in order to normalize “rape culture” as mass media is doing for years in broad daylight? What was the core message of HP Season 2, the audience should remember?
Ka Moon Young of “It’s Okay to Not Be Okay” said many things that are important, but here is my favorite: “The one who neglects and turns a blind eye to the abuse is worse than the abuser.”
I am sorry to say this but going by your logic you would prefer earth going straight for the sun rather than revolving…
The easiest thing to do is to make assumptions. Since you don't know me at all, keep your misconception for my personality based on your beliefs. I think therefore I am...
We live in an era that is acceptable to watch fairytale like romances, but when we actually see something realistic, we get mad ?
Why is that? We need to know that this kind of relationships exist.
When you are in your 20s you might come across someone ( male or female ) who are like this. You need to learn in order to understand what you really want from a partner, not theoretically but as an experience.
Song Kang is an very good actor. His job is take works where he can show his caliber. So, he did well to take this role. I am focusing on that only.
I finished ep15... Genious level. Full retroactive story, script class divine Saiyan.https://www.inspiredtraveler.ca/wp-content/uploads/2021/02/Dragon-Ball-Super-Could-Goku-reach-Super-Saiyan-God-and.gifNow…

Does any of these ring a bell?

Food for thought...
I think therefore I am...

At the same time Myul Mang told her: I love you.
Love me, then I will die in your place. I will save you.
No worries he will be back. :-)
While TSul was dying, he was listening to Seo Hae's voice.
His brain before would stop had a function, so he "dreamed" that they were together going to Hawaii most likely.
The lights were not right. It was a dreamlike state.
The message of the Series is defeaning...
Still, Go Reum in the end was Ji Oh's consciousness.
She preferred to stay human and she tried to bring Ji Oh back.
Goo Reum was the only person who accepted Ji Oh for what he was. So, losing her made him despise human beings...
I don't agree with the ending, but I am keeping the message of the Series as the most important lesson to us all...
Okay, at least know we know more about what JiReum couple was arguing about.
To those that cannot understand why Goo Reum left check again the phrase:
"You are not a monster, we made you one."
Where "we" is her and the baby. She thinks Ji Oh lost his Humanity because of them and it is kinda true.
It is terrifying for Goo Reum that Ji Oh gave permission to the Bad Guys to make those embryos, when he suffered the first time around.
While Ji Oh thinks that he is saving them, because he cannot protect them from that Organisation.
Goo Reum asked him to leave together. Ji Oh doesn't want to be runaways...
The truth is in the middle, as always... Hopefully can they communicate about it?
