Okay stop gaslighting people, he never gave any statement or post any about racist and anti-black stereotypes.…
there's not finding dark skin attractive and then there's supporting negative stereotypes mocking dark skin women while dark skin women BARELY have any positive representation in asian media. The actor is an idiot for supporting minstrel shows. Anyone who supports him, supports racism. Point blank.
Okay stop gaslighting people, he never gave any statement or post any about racist and anti-black stereotypes.…
the fact that people even upvoted that comment normalizing discrimination. So erasing people while mocking them through brownface is not considered racism? I'm shocked that people genuinely support such hateful rhetoric. but in my heart i think i've accepted the reality that most thai people are just evil monsters that belong to the ku klux klan.
u ugly cunt gtfo here making an acc just insult actors don't watch it if u don't want too there's no need to be…
the romance genre is usually driven by the leads visuals. everything else is an afterthought/extra.
a potential audience not liking the lead's visuals is fair game in that regard. if some fans don't say how they really feel, how will the feedback actually reach these companies who put out these dramas?
I looked backed into the 2021 post. There is a picture in the post that includes a comedic moment (There’s fire…
Sorry but that still doesn't excuse the actress painting her entire self brown and acting like a minstrel show.
Anyone who supports anti-black stereotypes is a horrible person imbued with racist values and everyone has the right to boycott them if they want. I don't want to support someone who wants to erase dark skin women while also making them look bad with negative stereotypes.
"A person is found to be attractive solely due to these characteristics"
yes. its called having a type. i also have one. i'm attracted to cute small guys. call me a fetishist of cute and short men i guess? i don't see how having a personal visual preference is hurting anyone. Especially if it pertains to one's own hobbies or personal dating life. we're human beings, we're allowed to choose what we want to be attracted to. Gay or not.
"you're a gay man so of course it's fine for you to like what you like, but op is not a man, so it's weird for her to care so much about this, and only want to watch these types of relationships."
fans (regardless of gender/sexuality) are allowed to support what personally interests them. its their money. its not weird to want to support or watch what makes THEM happy. if they only like one type of couple, then they only like one type of couple. thats capitalism. the BL industry isn't real life, its a entertainment market and a product. consumers are allowed to choose what products they want to buy/support with their money and time.
and by all accounts. shes not asking for double masc gay couples to be erased or for versatile gay couples to be erased. Just to have more options for couples who fit the traditional aesthetic because right now there aren't many options. Theres room for all kinds of couples to be represented in BLs and we all have our type of BL couple that we prefer. if people are into double masc/same size couples, i 100% support them. They can have that "fetish" for two men who are masculine. But lets not act like people who want the traditional aesthetic are "weird" for doing so. That seems bigoted and intolerant to another individual's personal preference.
"harmful stereotypes"
for it to be a stereotype. it has to be mainstream and constantly portrayed in the media 24/7. Gay height difference couples are RARELY seen in the BL industry currently and are given very little representation in the Live Action market. Its simply a Niche that some BL fans are into. From my personal experience as a gay man, i have been unaffected by the trope. In fact, NOBODY even cares that i'm gay at work, home, or life in general. So i'm like, where's the harm thats hurting me again??
if anything anti-dark skin stereotypes (as well as anti-trans stereotypes) are way more prevalent in most media than any involving gay men. Those two communities still have to deal with minstrel shows slandering them daily on television. if anything, we gay guys got it good. Thanks to asian BL, our media portrayal has been multifaceted/diverse for us in the last decade. We're privileged in many aspects. But if your opinion differs, then lets just agree to disagree. i don't want to argue.
on what grounds? I am a gay man myself and i don't see what's so wrong about preferring a heteronormative aesthetic. Thats what i'm also into. There is an audience for it (hence this page with fans who want the same). you can disagree with their opinion without ad hominem attacks. i've been kinked shamed and accused of being a straight fangirl multiple times for liking this trope so i know this situation.
You're partly right but I think looks aren't everything. He's a talented actor so I am always looking forward…
but thats the thing. the surgery didn't make him look younger, it made him look older. Its good if he personally likes it but i don't think it was a good career move.
I'll always cherish his past works/moments and the happiness it gave me but i don't think i can actively follow him anymore in the future. Now hes someone i'll look back to on his prime. i still wish him the best.
You're partly right but I think looks aren't everything. He's a talented actor so I am always looking forward…
looks do matter in romance dramas. he doesn't look very "fresh" with this new look. he looks so unnatural that its very noticeable. Thai fans even complained on twitter. Its hard to imagine him in any acting roles when he looks like a Picasso painting. So i don't think he'll be drawing in much viewers anymore sadly.
Whoever told him to get plastic surgery just ruined his career. I would have accepted an older Gun with wrinkles but the way he changed everything on his face makes no sense. Were his old facial features that bothersome to him?
"Tencent is known to be racist."In what way exactly?
they helped channel 3 (a thai channel) fund some shows that pushed racist stereotypes against dark skin people (involving minstrel show tropes).
Basically they want to slander dark skin people with negative propaganda in media and television just so they can push the incentive for the average thai person to buy skin whitening beauty products (which chinese companies profit from).
Its important people know this so we can all learn which dramas to boycott.
tbh I am a bit sad since he got plastic surgery on his Eyes and Nose. He lost his beauty and youthfulness. He used to have a cute eye smile but now its gone :(
his image looks awkward, uncanny and unnatural now.
not sure if i can be the same diehard fan for him anymore but i guess its expected this happens as he probably won't be an actor forever anyways... c'est la vie
when the racism/inequality in southeast asian countries make me miserable, someone like her has always given me hope. Praying she gets more opportunities.
I hope whatever he did is temporary. His nostrils look uneven. South Korea needs to stop butchering perfect faces…
"You comment there everytime on how we shouldn't support these actors as they are trying to look tan and stuff."
and you don't see the problem in that? That light skin actors are using a tan filter to get clout from the dark skin demographic when the thai industry should be hiring an authentic dark skin person instead??
to me thats erasure. They shouldn't use a light skin actor to replace dark skin people. Its colorist.
"Why are you still sticking around if you don't like anything about the thai industry."
I support SOME thai actors. Before it was mostly Gun, but now its Fluke Natouch and the other random short twinks i come across. I stan the height/size difference couples in Thailand. I also stan the masc tops they are shipped with. These couples are the reasons i'm still around.
I also support "Prim Diskul" from AR3NA as she is the only authentic dark skin girl in the industry that is not rooted in negative stereotypes.
when people are so obsessed that they start spreading rumours. Having a negative opinion doesn't make a person…
Its an opinion bro. But we have to remember these are romance dramas and looks are apart of the package for most viewers (whether we like it or not).
Gun was a cutie before the new change. He didn't need the surgery. thats all i have to say. respectfully. I don't want to argue. Let people have their opinions.
Guys the user Mad Cinderella down and the user Reinee interacting with them is the same person with 2 accounts…
when people are so obsessed that they start spreading rumours. Having a negative opinion doesn't make a person satan. Calm down.
PS: I don't think i EVER said any "lies" about him. But its also not against the law to say you don't care about an actor.
Yet here you are trying "dox" people and "out" what you think their usernames are on other sites. Thats creepy and borderline cyberstalking imo. Its much more nefarious than saying "i don't care about xxx actor". Seriously....
I hope whatever he did is temporary. His nostrils look uneven. South Korea needs to stop butchering perfect faces…
He also did something to his eyes which made him look more "jarring". its honestly sad how people really believe in Korea's plastic surgery propaganda. They trying to turn everyone ugly like Michael Jackson!
i didn't think Gun's era would come to an end so soon but its been a rough one as a solo fan for the past 2 years. Hes never gotten much opportunities in GMMTV and was stuck in a rigid pairing with an unattractive partner. Not sure if i'll watch leap day either as it'll be hard to imagine the current plastic looking face playing a legitimate autistic younger sibling character.
I might still stick around to support Fluke Natouch. And then when he retires. Its adios to Thai entertainment for me lol. No more twinks will be worth supporting after Fluke goes.

like i've said before. A blasian lead is too good to be true. Especially coming from this country...
