This drama is really a 10/10. This is how a slice of life book turned into drama is done. The screenwriter’s skills is exceptional, you can really see the was careful and thoughtful way she handled the drama. This is a drama that stayed through to the book and captured the essence of the story. The cinematography is beautifully done with so many settings that evoke appealing images and unique sensations in the audience. This is definitely not a rushed work but a work of art. And the ACTING! My goodness. It was so good. Both ML and FL understood the role and gave it what it was due. The micro expressions on the ML, the portrayal of emotions done so minutely it felt like second nature. The delivery of dialogue felt so natural, not like those stiff rehearsed delivery we have in idol dramas. Haven’t seen a well done book to drama since Untamed. Now for the dissenters, I’m for constructive criticism. I like reading reviews that point out details I omitted in a drama or important flaws I didn’t detect. What I do not like is certain people with misplaced expectations coming here to whine about what the objective of the drama wasn’t about. Always learn to read the genre and tags of a drama before dreaming up expectations for it. I’m sorry some of you were expecting an idol drama with brain reducing plot. The drama is about LIFE and it’s meant to be healing. If the drama isn’t your cup of tea then keep it moving! Why are y’all being miserable about it in the comments? That’s unreasonable.
Watched ep 1-15, wasn’t feeling it. Felt like every other Xianxia drama. Skipped episodes 25-36. Now you see from episode 37-the end was absolutely brilliant. This is how you write a drama, leave no loose ends untied. The last twelve episode were written and acted impressively. Both lead and second lead actors acted incredibly. The emotion portrayed by Xu Kai were so heart wrenching I cried. Also, no one does a sad scene like Dongyu except maybe Sun Li. I finished the last 12 episodes without skipping, quite unbelievable since I was close to dropping the drama. I hope other dramas can at least learn from a well-executed ending like this.

She’s going to break everyones’s heart when they find out. Her brother will blame himself for telling her and not protecting her. Her family might not recover from this. Everyone of her actions are not thought through at all. A wasted character. The best thing they can do for her character is give her the credit of finally bring the Duke’s family down. That’ll probably redeem her in our eyes.
