I am also happy, but they're still back to dating in secret and him not being able to address her as his girlfriend.…
I think the director went something like "Hey Ms Writer, we only have enough material for like 30 1-hour episodes, I need a way to stagnate the plot for roughly 20 episodes!"
This won the Best Couple award? This?! This relationship where both parties are so quick to bury their relationship at the whims of others?! The writing has utterly failed to convince me of the strength of the pairing. At this stage, I'm really hoping this drama ends tomorrow with YG and Sara married, and DD in the US.
The best couple in this common-sense-forsaken show is the brothers. They work towards a common goal, stick up for each other, support each other, and learn together. One wonders how many episodes it will take for the main pairing to even come close to Sechan and Sejong.
My eyes nearly rolled out the back of my head after YG lost his memories of the past 3 months. And his confrontation with Sa Ra. Way too much stupidity in order to ensure this paper-thin plot stands. My suspension of disbelief only goes so far and it was already being severely tested.
YG: Sa Ra admitted she lied to me and everyone around me during my memory loss Also YG: I still have memory loss yet I still believe Sa Ra. It's impossible that she would lie to me about my memories again! Once bitten twice shy? Bite me!
Lawyer Ko: You didn't look happy at all. Also YG: Since Sa Ra told me I was happily engaged, I must have been happy and wanted this!
Seryeon: Oh YG told me before that he didn't love Sa Ra, and he was only marrying her because his 41 year old self was in a relationship with her. I encouraged him to wait for his memories to return. Also Seryeon: When YG expressed shock that he was engaged to Sa Ra, I didn't find it weird!
By the way, wasn't there a scene in the preview for ep 27 where Jae Ni told DD that something was wrong? I don't think I remember this scene in ep 27 itself. Am I the one with amnesia now?
I really can't keep defending you if you're going to keep acting like this, Park Dan Dan ðŸ˜I got so annoyed…
I agree that I would've liked DD to tell the truth about YG's memories. But I think I can understand her motivations. She thinks she's the third party in YG-SR's relationship. She thinks SR left because of her. Drawing parallels to her own childhood, now she's Yeon Shil, and YG is Soo Chul. She thinks Soo Chul left her birth mum because he loved Yeon Shil deeply and she thinks this is what's happening now, that YG is leaving SR (even though he's engaged to her) to be with DD. You can understand why DD would not want that to happen.
This is why she's desperately trying to pretend that nothing happened. She thinks if YG remembers, he will break off the engagement to be with her, and she doesn't want to be the Yeon Shil, that's why DD keeps saying "please do not do this to me", or in other words, please do not make her a Yeon Shil. We, the viewers, are supposed to see that DD is being tormented by her love for YG and her utter intolerance for two-timing.
A lone positive note in that terrible preview for ep25, Sechan looks like he's had enough of YG-Sara and he's taking matters into his own hands to break them up. Dude's been a baller, planting toy snakes in his grandma's room, confronting Sara over her attempted manipulation of DD, and now this. Wonder where he ran off too but all I can say is rock on, young man!
Oh no, DD definitely rejected YG. And as usual, they're making the characters stupid, it's not as if YG couldn't cancel his engagement even if he got rejected. But that would remove a lot of the drama so nope, can't do. I'm so sick of this plotline! The rejection earlier gave me hope that maybe the story can finally move forward after DD and YG reconcile, but no, I think the writer is aiming for DD and YG's reconciliation to coincide with Xmas in real life. What a drag! The relationship between our main characters has literally been stagnant for 2 months!
I have a bad feeling about Namsan Tower. DD hasn't shown any fondness for amnesia YG and most of their interactions so far have boiled down to "this guy is weirding me out or pissing me off" so I doubt the relationship will be rekindled there and then, especially if YG did not break off his engagement to Sa Ra. My prediction for ep 24 is that DD will show up to Namsan, but she will reject YG's confession. The reason is that she's in love with someone else, and that YG will know once he regains his memories, then she will tearfully disappear into the night. YG resolves to get his memories back ASAP.
Now my hopes for ep 24 is that in the preview, at the engagement party thing that YG is having with Sa Ra, he breaks off the engagement there and then. He reveals this to DD during Namsan Tower, so DD can stop thinking he's trying to two-time her. And then episode 25 will be a cutesy episode of DD trying to trigger YG's memories. This is EXTREMELY unlikely to happen though, just a fleeting hope of mine, so that we can finally put this DAMN amnesia plot behind us.
This drama definitely has its positive and negative points. It typically wraps up misunderstandings quickly. Dd…
That's what I was ranting about, the plot requires the characters to be stupid! DD wanting to flee to US, I can see it as her being really saddened by YG's glee at his proposal plan.
"I'm sure he'll remember something if she gifts himanpther embroidered handkerchief." Unfortunately, the writer knows that too, and she created an excuse for her. Now that DD believes she's been two-timed, she's not going to try to salvage the relationship.
The doctor had advised not to pressure the ML into remembering things and allow it to come at its own phase..…
I should point out that in the drama, DD has been staying and interacting with YG for 6 months already, which should allow them to build up some level of trust.
I started this drama because of two things, firstly, I thought the main couple, having confessed their feelings, would be able to face the challenges as a couple, instead of the norm where the main couple get together near the end of the drama. Secondly, the drama wrapped up the subplots and misunderstandings very quickly at the start of the show, and it led me to believe that I wouldn't be experiencing month-long cliffhangers waiting for resolution. Also, whatever misunderstandings that arose were at least believable. We all know how a drama hooks us is to prolong the sufferings of the characters we like over illogical bullshit. For example, I could believe that YG fired DD because DD kept the truth about her father from him. And YG believed that DD was a scammer for the whole of 1 episode.
And then this amnesia bullshit came in and suddenly, misunderstandings drag on. The biggest misunderstanding is that DD is wholeheartedly convinced that YG two-timed her without waiting for an explanation from the horse's mouth, once the horse remembers. How could she make no attempt to jog YG's memories, by dragging him to drink strawberry latte, or whack-a-mole, or bike-riding? You'd attempt to do that much for a friend, let alone a partner. When YG mentioned toasting beer cans with someone, DD immediately assumed it was with other girls instead of her. The answer is that characters become illogically stupid as a plot requirement to maintain this facade and drag out the episode count, and the viewers get the idea that the relationship wasn't important enough for DD to fight for it.
I could go on and on about this amnesia-induced stupidity but I would've put in more thought than the writer did. Sadly, judging by the preview, YG is showing up at Sara's door step to try to reconcile with her so apparently he believed Wang Daeran's words about getting engaged first (yet ANOTHER inconsistency, YG absolutely hates the sight of her but he believes everything she says) and that this amnesia thing isn't going away anytime soon. And how could it? DD's sunbaenim hasn't even appeared to spite YG, which is a developing subplot that is probably only possible with YG's memory loss because 41 year old YG wouldn't doubt DD's feelings for him. I give it 4 more episodes for sunbaenim to fully bring out YG's jealousy (and beat that dead horse of "Oh no! I don't have feelings for Ms Jo, what do I do?") and maybe after that subplot is done, will YG finally regain his memories.
I miss the big smiles that YG and DD had for each other and will be tolerating the weekly frustration for that eventual pay off.

So no, it's not because she's holding a grudge.
