I can see your point. And what you refer to is really romance BUT they did all those things with no emotion. That's what Im saying. We never see her looking at him as being in love. Later on you'll see they accidentally meet each other on the subway as a couple. The way they reacted, even their hug was just like they were not intimate. When u r really in love you do things totally different. I would really recomend My Fated boy to you where the actor although they make him look quite childish, the chemistry & romance are off the charts

Im sorry but all I could see was a Jie jie and a didi helping each other. They even hugged each other like relatives. In case u havent seen it yet, watch My Fated boy. To see exactly this inner conflict and the romace suitable to this age gap.

WARNING: Whoever says there is Romance, is lying. NO CHEMISTRY between the leads what so ever. His friends had great chemistry but with no romance. His friend was sooo handsome! Their friendship was very good. Acting was good but her sisters story was not needed at all. Xiao Zheng always wearing baggy clothes! Really annoying! FL one hair style for almost 40 eps. Moreover above summary is kinda misleading...

So there are 3 evil people who do as they wish inside a palace for 30+ eps and always get away with it... FL was always totaly ungrateful to ML... As for the Crown Prince... he endured evil family and scheming without saying a word, but kept as a prisoner the FL for 5 whole years maye by this way she could love him... and at the end the couple was grateful too!! THAT WAS PREPOSTERUS! Going on 2nd season now

This is really underated. It was quite good. Cinematography and direction were great. FL beautiful woman. Loved Lady Wu's character! Few plot issues that I didn't like cited below.
