Super disappointing with the rushed ending. I dont really understand screenwriters and how they have so many resources and cant take a few minutes to rethink the jumbled mess. They could have taken four or five episodes from the middle out to expand the end and have more time to develop him trying to get used to being blind then using the experimental drug. But this was packed into 5 minutes. We didnt even have a confrontation between JQF and Elise. Im beyond disappointed, this is part of many dramas i watch that have amazing acting and grabs you in some plot areas but falls off the rails during the last episodes....i could honestly go on forever explaining all the things the screenwriter ruined just due to the last four episodes. This drama also had an identity issue, it had really deep moments then tried to be fluff. Add comedy out of nowhere and downplays things. Why build up evil characters then make them harmless and forgivable. ๐ค i couldn't find one single redeeming quality in any of the ones that hurt LKS and JQF.

๐ญ๐ญ๐ญ buckets of tears in todays eps. Both JQF and LKS are in so much pain. I'm so mad at Elise, how can she be so evil to ruin him that much and claim she loves him. ๐ข๐ญ๐ญ i definitely chocked up watching today. Correct me if I'm wrong, in the novel JQF was born blind or became blind at a young age? Its easier to accept if born with it, what elise did is devastating. Man when will he get justice for what she did. And in the novel, he never lost his sense of taste or he did? The script writers made it so cruel for JQF to lose taste and then sight for a chef. Gonna go cry more in the corner ๐๐๐ญ
Also Song Zu Er is such a talented actress. First drama I've seen her in. Her emotional scenes are so good. Her voice has the perfect raw feeling when you hear it. Definitely needs to do melo/mature, angst/dark dramas. (I've watched a bunch of Ethan's dramas he's a veteran through and through)
The entire reaction from all quarters about Oliver's failing taste buds is really much ado about nothing. Everyone…
I think most of the people and reporters were thinking he has a ghost chief or is taking other chiefs credit since he wouldn't be able to cook so well if he lost his sense of taste. Which would be deceit. In the end it worked better for him, he proved that he is behind the high rated marks for his restaurant. Its ironic he tried so hard to hide it and felt miserable when he could've embraced it and spoke out. I blame ex for that, if she really loved him (haha not forgetting she poisoned him, considering that she never loved him...but i digress) she would have given him strength and let him know it was fine not hide it like she did. Elise would've been a nice evil character to give more depth to. She oddly wanted JQF to cut back on cooking and focus on her so she crippled him, but still wanted the validation and the praise of being with a top cheif and the restaurant to be loved by everyone. Sad they didn't dive more into her thoughts and actions. It would've been better than just a jealous ex wanting him back.
Maybe im just getting older, but i really love the progression of the romace between the leads. Its more raw or natural. Its hard to explain, its like they dont need to declare anything and it just slowly got them both. There are a few editing fails or could be the script where it felt JQF doesn't feel anything for LKS, but its normal to get angry or argue with people you love or care about. Doesnt mean you love them any less if the next day theres an argument or someone is mad. JQF has always had cooking on his mind so everything else takes a back set, thats how i saw his attitude at the beginning with LKS. He's disciplined and likes order. I think he's had the biggest character development so far. A good plot needs flawed leads to show growth. It can be frustrating but its closer to reality as we grow older. I think this drama is more mature than the usual fluffy c-dramas with almost perfect male leads. The villains could've used some work, they feel one dimensional/ lack depth.
That is hilarious. From 33, to 40, to 30! ๐คฃ๐คฃ๐คฃ
I think most of it is the transition. Pretty sure his true age is 33/34. The time he mentioned 40 is more of a reference kinda like he's old almost 40 since he's getting to mid 30s. (I went through that during my mid 20s, still in my 20s but feels different once you hit 24/25/26). As for 30, the translation i believe was 30s as in he's in his 30-39 not literally the numerical 30. I've seen lots of comments on his age, this is just my two cents on it, i could totally be off ๐. It is quite funny since the translation is a bit off even about other dialogues.
The writer is now on my blacklist for any romance drama. She can write comedy, but completely relies on cliches/nonsense/over used tropes for any depth going into a main couples relationship.

Ive just seen the screen grabs but looks like they got together; however, after a 3 year time jump. Which is a slap in the face. Idk whats the point of a time separation. Not even a hug/kiss..nothing.. just looking at each other....I'm crying...this show could've been one of my tops and I'm so picky ๐ญ๐ญ

Yeah, ive been trying to collect my thoughts too. This ep was such a letdown. Whats the point of a time jump...the break up...WHATS THE POINT OF HER DAD EVEN BEING IN THE STORY. This writer definitely has a problem with writing endings, same thing happened in drinking solo...sigh.. i loved this show. Could've explored NYW actually getting a house/apartment.
In ep 10 preview it looks like the YJS stalker called NWY ๐ค๐ฑ she looked at her phone with the caller ID as YJS but he was walking with SG i wonder if she'll tell him
