it’s largely comedy lol (at least for the first ep) so far there isn’t really a serious/dark element, at least…
Thats a real shame since the teaser was dark themed, its so frustrating when they do that and we had to wait so long for it to air.

OK so i will now be watching it as if its a horror/psychological thriller starring pheromone warfare:
(it makes for a very good thriller/psychological show).

Manipulation, hidden identity, cheating, stalking, verbal abuse, classism, grape, coercion, power imbalance, psychological abuse, physical abuse, Love trapping by force, love trapping with pregnancy -novel (victim didn't know he could get pregnant and therefore was in denial, partner new this and didn't care to help him come to terms and make his own decisions).

Pretty sure second male lead is a psychopath as he doesn't appear to be able to feel or express love - its more like possession, jealousy, control and dominance. He shows no guilt for his crimes and no remorse. Does not comfort or support his partner without some form of pheromone warfare. No communication or full explanations offered for his actions. Keeps his partner in the dark about his true intentions.

Boun has said it's not a comedy. Just like a comedy cam have dramatic elements, a drama can still have comedic…
Ok, so does it have darker theming overall with just comedy elements? if so then ill give it a watch. I love a good comedy but not so much when its about vampires/occults lol. some golden blood scenes were mega cringe.

Why can't I stop watching this toxic sh...t? Tbh, I knew these Omegaversethemes are different from other plots…
that mind games scene after the S/A grape was just too much. mr sheng comes home after being violated, seeking comfort from his 'omega' partner only to find out hes gone and supposedly offered himself up to sheng shaou and is 'breaking up with him'

ah man i fear we wont ever see Mr. sheng properly forgiving hua yong and he just gets forcibly love trapped by the perma mark and the baby that he will be in denial about. Mr sheng really has no choice in this at all.

I was searching for this info, thank you. How didn't Shen Wen Lang recognized him, only Gao Tu glasses fell off,…
no in the novel hes so drunk on alcohol he doesn't know where he is and then gets high on the omega pheromones which make him go into rut. The show was bad at displaying this. He looked 100% sober and now we just think hes lacking brain cells or something, especially the scene where he says "how come he is affected by alpha pheromones, it must be his asthma"??? LIKE BRO are you dumb.

In the book he was alcohol drunk but i think the series tried to show it as pheromone drunk and failed really badly. omg your point about doing a love trap made this even more fucked up. in the book its not a love trap so im hoping they wont do this here. I really cant see mr sheng forgiving hua yong without force. what if its just gonna be one scene like the one in the trailer where he says "everything about you is a lie, even your sister is fake" and he tries to resist the kiss and just .. gives up..... ??? that might be the only scene we see and then from then onwards sheng is just ok with everything. if they do that then this will be a disaster.

The direction and editing are really off. Shen Wen Lang was supposed to be drunk out of his mind when finding Gao Tu but he seemed complete sober yet still failed to recognise him in a brightly lit room. they could have shown him stumbling around following the scent and getting more and more intoxicated but it was just so rushed. The main couple scene was also very rushed and behind a heavy filter which is more censoring than ive seen from most BL dramas, we could hardly see anything and it was just a couple of lines of dialogue for the most part. I also wanted to see Sheng Shao You fight back more, i loved the punch but i needed to see him fighting more before being subdued.
At the end of ep 9 Hua Yong arranges to meet with Sheng Shao You to pass over the cancer curing drug or something, but when this happens i want Hua Yong to see how injured Sheng shao you is and feel guilty but they probably wont go that far. It seems alot of the direction for this show has the actors being cold towards each other. If hua yong is supposed to care deeply for sheng shao you then why is he so unfazed whenever he sees the physical damage he caused him and emotional damage from messing with his pheromones and mind.

Thanks to the actors who played great, especially my dear Huasheng, but the editing and editing was terrible.…
yes the editing was really bad over censored. most of the time we were watching a heavy filter with dialogue over the top. they could have done better

One of the books Trin was reading is Towards An Understanding of Homosexuality by Daniel Capone, which says that…
yes but it is just nice to see how he is learning about himself in the show by the use of note taking etc when he reads books. Alot of dramas do not show this. the drama is showing the development of Tirin as a character as he explores possibilities along side his own feelings. Just the fact that he wrote "mental illness?" is enough to show us that he is exploring and playing with a future he could possibly have being in a gay relationship and the drawbacks in the current society.

The library scene was so sweet, it felt so natural and real for a couple working out the beginnings of their relationship. Im also intrigued that apos character seems to be struggling with depression and when he was reading books on homosexuality he wrote down something like 'Mental illness?'. I love being able to see what the character is thinking as he learn about himself. I also love miles character trying to cheer him up by complimenting his smile and trying his hardest to get close to him.

I also struggle to feel genuine love from HY. He never seems uncomfortable that he's having to lie so much to…
yeah exactly lol, im really hoping we get more dynamics between them except just lying and sedating Mr sheng. i want more actual angst and some pushback. and i want to see hua yong really stress over mr sheng being injured and play the protector for once (in the traditional sense not just deception) especially in the scene from the trailer of the earthquake.

theres nothing wrong with calling it a BL its a gay romance story with political elements making it a BL
i disagree, BL can be anything with a secondary tag. Bl has a long history and culture behind it and this show defiantly fits in there.
