I don't agree with you... but it's true it's missing the "comedy" tag. It's not a goofy show but it's…
Nah, I am not someone that wants to get into internet fights or to spread lies about someone's beloved show. Could be the way I phrased it, sorry for misunderstanding.
You know I am also struggling with this show, wanted it to be good but some episodes were so strange and as if there wasnt nicely paced flow.
Sure, its mixure of many things but mostly its romantic drama set in country that is conflicted with war. I simply cant phrase this better, and I dont have problem with that as such- I just have a problem cause it was supposed to be epic wuxia and it turned out to be puppy eyes love story. At least some people are happy, there are million dramas to choose, I just wanted to cut through comments that seemed biased. Doesn't matter who will agree with me- just to have some balace :D
'the Wolves were horrendous...' - almost bad as The Untamed one *shots fired* :D So you see after that wolf episode and looking at comments here I was baffled - did I just watch the same show? Are people blind, or am I blind? It's maybe cause some watchers read the novel and are fans for years so they invested a lot and are forcing themselves to like it no matter what.
I have 0 expectations now, won't drop it...there are some nice parts of this drama but overall I am so disappointed.
Edited to the perfection... 😅 I only watched the first four episodes and especially the first one was an editing…
Oh noo, you are so harsh but honest- I meant edited as in costumes are nice, fighting scenes with tiny female general are nicely filmed; the angles and all. But yeah you can't see that in just 4 episodes, those were just - wtf is that. Uhm but few good scenes in this show so far are overall lacking cause if you had hard time focusing on the story from the beginning, yes it doesnt move much from there. It progresses into romatic comedy that is cut with some battle scenes that are not convincing but nicely edited + costumes are great, from dresses to armours. Need to be kind and polite with my describing cause I would be lying if I didnt saw potential, I hate dropping shows.
When it just aired - I commented exactly what you said about 1st ep, I almost dropped it cause it was everything that I am trying to avoid.
I don't agree with you... but it's true it's missing the "comedy" tag. It's not a goofy show but it's…
I am not saying that its bad just cause I personally dont like it, just saying that its marketed VERY differently. It's comedy, treat it at such. Nothing bad at comedies if they are well made and if you know that you will get exactly that...I would just argue that 'Legend of the Female General' is trying to please everyone and cause of that its everything at once.
Its exactly a matter of personal taste, I think main actors are great, they are just awkward here. For me the best episode was sad master and empress storyline(its as if their story is more convincing than main leads!) and I strangely enough prefer Cheng Li Su and his comedic endeavours. And its filmed beautifully, and the costumes are to die for...and then comes the dialogues, and some scenes that are cinematic crimes...(what was that with her fighting blind like a pro and those CGI wolves).
Haha no early access-I am actually watching it on le pirate pages :D Saving money and my sanity cause my curiousity always gets the best of me. Nah, I am not one of those that is ''pooping on anyone's parade''. Watch what you want any enjoy any show that makes you happy and relaxed. I am just annoyed that it got hyped and labeled wrong.
I don't agree with you... but it's true it's missing the "comedy" tag. It's not a goofy show but it's…
Well that is the whole point. It's a comedy and it was marketed as an epic drama. I am 4sure disappointed and so are the others that wanted to see a beautiful show and not cheap giggles.
Same. FL actress is acting exactly as she did in Love Me Love My Voice. 😑OMGGGGG. I really like Ryan Cheng,…
I was surprised how wasted he is here tbh. It's as if they used him just for the face...and those bath scenes. If you watch closely he is holding this show together, 4sure he stares a lot and doesnt give much of emotions(that is ok, I actually love stoic characters but somehow here it's just flat).
Zhou Ye is so beautiful and cute, it's as if she is repeating her role in 'Back from the Brink' - the same funny and independent female but everything is over the top, it can get annoying at times. I honestly don't know what to say- they can act just not here, and yet there is chemistry its just strange. As the *story* is progressing I often had to remember-''aha she is a warrior but here they are playing married couple...''
It's as if they got all the right pieces they just arranged it strangely....
Same, I was a little disappointed tbh. My head just cannot get past how anyone can magically believe she looks…
Some actors can do those androgynous roles but FL is way too feminine for that imo. As a comedy its ok, and those costumes are top notch....but plot holes, its as if they didn't bother to explain anything.
I am writing this cause at least someone will see different comment.
This is more starting to be abomination. Its clearly edited to the perfection, costumes, setting....but those dialogues and acting between main leads- beyond terrible. Is it peak when you see ML in bath scenes? Well if you dont care about obvious plot holes then sure. They are starting to call Ryan Cheng - bath beauty and I find that hilarious!
If you want to waste some time on comedy then this is for you. It was marketed as Mulan, epic war tale, it should be serious....but it delivered cheap comedy, a lot of annoying staring, unbelivable FL as soldier cause her face is feminine and she is a tiny human.
Please stop defending this show, its mediocore at best. Just another of those that got hyped and it was marketed well, personally I would never watch it if I knew that its mostly romantic comedy. Now whoever enjoys it- good for you, I am just stating my opinion and now watch it purely for fun, have 0 expectations now.
Didn't read the novel, just reading through rants here and something on reddit. I really love the visuals and that ''before the fall fight scene on the top of the hill''. That scene was very Zatoichi samurai :D
Love the visuals, it's fast paced so to speak. FL is so beautiful that she wouldn't be mistaken for a man if her face is not covered. And that is also debatable....
There is no way that Xiao Jue wouldnt recognise He Ru Fei when he cut off the mask or when he managed to just stumble upon lovely lady covered with veil-he would recongnise the voice (and so would she!! She was blind not dumb!).
Feeling completely drained. Gotta admit they lost me with first two episodes, it was way too fast paced. It's…
Also loved that last scene! Cate Blanchett will always be one of those Holywood actresses that is so versatile and if the American spinoff will be made by David Fincher-it will be a treat imo!
Feeling completely drained. Gotta admit they lost me with first two episodes, it was way too fast paced. It's filmed so beautifully, and it ain't like its written or acted badly. Its just as if it lost magic so to speak. Loved all the emotional rollercoasters and how viewer slowly but surely becomes vip just by watching it. This is made just to make some space for spinoffs.
𓆩❤︎𓆪 This was so beautiful!! 𓆩❤︎𓆪 Dont be fooled into thinking that it's just romance drama, its so much more. 𓆩❤︎𓆪 Great casting and outstanding battle scenes! 𓆩❤︎𓆪 Now to patiently wait for: ''A Dream Within A Dream''. 𓆩❤︎𓆪
Holy ****...I almost dismissed it cause I thought it will be another melodramatic story like Blossom(don't get me wrong-loved the plot and it was a good start-but then the storry dragged on and on...). This seems to have developed storyline, amazing action scenes, and I hope so they wont ruin it with some badly written love scenes.
Getting to know your partner before marriage is 99% myth. Everything will be good until honeymoon phase over.…
In this paricular case: relationships/marriage there are certain rules and limitations. The point is - if you break some of the rules there is no more trust.
If you consider yourself as undefined- good for you. There is also something that is caled - morality(your inner worldview of how you shoud treat others) and law(that is there for those that lost their moral compass). We could argue that yes- a lot of people are exhibiting more flaws than virtues....but aint that another topic?
And also we all know what are traits of good humans, and what things are simply not tolerable in kind and lovable relationship/marriage.
Getting to know your partner before marriage is 99% myth. Everything will be good until honeymoon phase over.…
Aint this show trying to portray just that - getting to know your partner BEFORE marriage and staying together no matter the obstacles. Hence the title - The Divorce Insurance. Marriage is a duty, you have an obligation towards person that you choose.
You can have honeymoon phase before and in marriage? I am no saying that all relationships are valid only cause the paper is signed. People are together cause of different reasons, and it all depends of the experience a person had. Getting to know someone takes TIME & EFFORT, we all have flaws but that is what makes us humans. As time progreses you are choosing your person every day, spending time with imperfect human is never a chore but a decision.
But what do I know...those are just my two cents....
This is a torture, what a waste of LDW. I am not into romantic comedies but I thought this will have some deeper meaning and character development. For anyone who is planning to watch it: Its not a conspiracy - It's really really bad!! There are some dialogues that are written very well, and main leads are trying to develop some romance in a very slow pace to the point that its exausting to watch them. Its not sweet, its not awkward its just - strange. 2ML & 2FL(Jeon-Man & Na-Rae) are completely lost in translation, it's simply terrible subplot of ML best friend and his ex wife - enemies to lovers issue. Extremely excruciating to wach, and 0 chemistry!
Main issue is that it looks very staged and wooden, you can't immerse yourself into story nor care for those sad and very melancholic people. What I do like - so far I think Ki-Jun is not a typical divorcee that has a grudge. He is just sad that marriages didn't work out and as he said when asked why did he got married: 'He can't do one night stands'. *Round of applause* cause he seems like a decent guy that didn't get well acquainted with his partners before marriage. If this is a point of a show(to get your partners very well *duh*) - this message somehow didnt get across.... Or am I watching something different?
What the hell happen? Who wrote this abomination and why? Will there be some point?
Yall i didnt actually watch the special episode yet hahasorryhelpmesjsks😭😭😭 im such a tubelight, initially…
Don't cry, watch and believe that miracle can happen! 🖤🖤 Without this extra ep its such a SE, amazingly portrayed but it brings river of tears. After watching this extra episode it's as someone wise once said: ''It can't rain all the time''. ✨✨
