It's totally understandable that different people perceive different scenarios in different ways, but with the phone and the video games, I saw that as more "we're actively hanging out and you're ignoring me to play on the phone/message Rin on the computer" and with the video games, Eiw was actively asking questions about the stuff they needed for the camping thing that they were heading to in the morning, but they were so busy playing games that they were mostly ignoring him.

I feel like it's perfectly reasonable to be upset that your best friend/soulmate is ignoring you to do other things while you're in the midst of hanging out. If Eiw was vibing on the bed reading a book while Cake was messaging someone or playing games with another friend, that's one thing - that's a nice way to just hang out while doing your own stuff - but that was not the case. I personally would be upset if I were hanging out with my best friend and she ignored me to excessively message someone else (i don't mind a message here or there while we're hanging out, but not the whole time while ignoring me). I wouldn't get mad and yell at my friend :'D but i might try to playfully pout and be like "hey y u ignore me" in a teasing way before getting sad and going quiet if she continues to ignore me for something else. She's done the same thing when i've accidentally gotten caught up reading something and missed what she was saying xD

I typed that small novel to say that I think Eiw's reaction is understandable, especially for the age he is.

in response to your last paragraph, i could see him clinging like that more excessively from the get-go because he only allows himself to do so when they're not in school. Because of people making fun of them at school, he doesn't feel comfortable hanging out with Cake there, so he feels like he has to get all his time in when they're away from school, usually at home o: idk it makes sense to me, but like i said, people see things differently

I dunno, feels very hate related to me when multiple people talk about wanting to punch him xD like, the character is an introverted gay teen, maybe don't comment about wanting to punch him just because his voice annoys you? (Not you specifically, but the people commenting that)

It's just frustrating because if I disliked a main character this much, I would've already moved on to a new show, at least to wait till more episodes were out :c it's understandable to find certain things annoying, but I wish they'd just move on Dx

It reminded me a lot of my childhood as well c: I would really love for people to stop hate watching and then leaving the same negative comments each week OTL just wait till the time skip or move on. I've never felt the need to leave so many negative comments about a character or show I don't like before xD

Understandable! It's hopefully something he'll grow out of, like I did :'D but no worries! I never thought you meant Cooheart, just wanted to explain how I had seen Eiw's reactions to things. I think it's perfectly reasonable to be upset at your friend for ignoring you to do other things while you're hanging out together, but you're right in that their relationship right now isn't the healthiest :'D my only friend also left to go to another school when I was younger, and it was very hard to branch out and try to make new friends, but I eventually did! I'm sure Eiw will do the same c:

I'm sorry, you're right that I'm projecting a little :'D honestly I see someone call him whiny at this point and my vision goes red. I apologize for taking that out on you when your comment is honestly tame in comparison to what some people are saying. I'm about to block a lot of people so I don't have to see their rudely worded opinions, because the same negative comments every week are about to be my villain origin story :'D

Eiw was also excited about getting a cellphone at first :'D until he realized that Cake having a cellphone meant that Cake was going to be glued to it almost 24/7, even when they were hanging out together :'D

i really didn't read most of it as annoyed, more as sad and upset? and they were *actively hanging out* when Cake was doing these things. Eiw doesn't care if Cake hangs out with other people, but it's not cool to ignore the person you're hanging out with to constantly message someone else or play a game with just one person when there's another person there.

I would be upset too :'D and my high school self would have also sat there and tried to get my friend to pay attention to me too and then eventually just sat being sad. My current self would say "okay, later" and go vibe on my own :'D but i'm an adult now vs the teenager i was, that Cake and Eiw are currently in the story.

It's alright to not like a character, but there are better ways to put it that don't make it seem like the character is the worst character to ever character - people are welcome to their opinions but they're not required to be rude about it :'D but yeah, it's moving kinda slow right now so maybe give it a bit and come back? People complaining about the same stuff every week for the last three weeks just feels like hate-watching out of spite at this point xD either drop it or come back to it later and see if it gets better for you

He's an extremely introverted kid who has very few friends and is afraid of branching out. He's going to grow out of it, especially when the plot happens and Cake goes abroad, but until then i'm afraid this (this being a character you apparently have an issue with) is what you've got :'D it's alright if it's not your thing! but you don't have to hate the character - it's okay to give this drama a skip or just come back after the time skip happens.

I wish they'd get annoyed enough to just leave xD it's literally the same thing every week, and one of them doesn't even know how to count LOL

Long before the show even started airing, people were in the comments talking crap about Earth and the fact that he's playing a highschooler even though he's *checks notes* in his mid-twenties, ohmygoodness!!!

now that the show is airing, there are a lot of people in the comments talking crap about Earth's voice, and his character's "whining" :) it's been the same stuff for the last three episodes, I'm hoping eventually they'll get annoyed enough that they'll leave :'D i'm enjoying the show quite a bit! Excited to see where it goes c:

i don't see it as him being annoyed at Cake having friends? I saw it as Eiw being upset that Cake was ignoring him when they were hanging out, first to message Rin, next to play around on his new phone, and then when the friend was spending the night they played a game and ignored him when he was trying to ask Cake something :c He waited patiently for Cake to get done messaging Rin so that they could hang out and play checkers, but I'm assuming from the huge difference in lighting that it was more than the "hour or two" that Cake told Eiw to wait, and that's why Eiw ended up falling asleep.

he just got done being sick and isn't eating properly, and who knows if he did any other physical activities before this one? it's alright if it's not your thing, but that doesn't make it bad

Oh man this episode hit close to home with me :c growing up i usually only had one or two close friends, and my best friend that I always hung out with left to go to a different school. I felt very abandoned, like Eiw is feeling now that Rin (and the new phone) is in the picture. I almost cried a few times throughout this episode because man, i've been there. Someone who was my best friend for many years got busy with her new job and new coworkers and slowly stopped talking to me, even though we had spoken and hung out every day for years. I would try to start up a conversation, see how she was doing, but would only get a couple of replies before she stopped talking again, too busy for me. I eventually gave up. It was honestly really devastating and I had to unfollow/unfriend her on everything we were friends on because it really sucked to see her continue on without me. I've moved on now, it's been like 5 or 6 years, but goodness it still hurts sometimes.

I was really confused at the beginning of the episode xD i was like "hello? Eiw just passed the heck out? Why're they acting like nothing happened???" but then I understood o: if you think about it, Eiw just got over being sick, and then to not eat enough before having to run? They also didn't show us if that was the first thing he'd done for the fitness test. I don't feel like it's fair to jump to the conclusion that he's just a "weak uke" and write off the whole character. My current best friend would 100% get sick if she got soaked in the rain and then was cold and didn't dry her hair properly, and she also would probably get dizzy and pass the heck out if she hadn't eaten right after being sick and was now being forced to exercise. Poor Eiw really should've taken it easy :c

I loved Benz's character's reaction to Cake and Eiw being cute at the camp xD me too, buddy! how dare they be so cute in front of our single salads???

I don't have the spoons to deal with the jerks in the comments today, my goodness. If y'all hate Earth and his portrayal of this character so much then please go elsewhere. I'm tired of coming here to talk about what happened in the new episode and seeing a majority of the comments and replies being hate for Earth's character.

At the very least just come back after the time skip when he's probably going to act different, my goodness. Why are you hate watching this just so you can be mean about it in the comments???? Make it make sense. I'm still thoroughly enjoying the series.
