Noone in the present time has said anything regarding the father nor his name, theres is a good chance that yi jin changed his surname before the daughter was born to not have her linked to previous debts or any of the problematic life that his father had. If yi jin died then wasnt hee do wayyy too indifferent when her mom said she "visited" him presumably his grave if indeed he died. My second sad ending theory is somehow for whatever reason yi jin and hee do got into a car accident in his pretty iconic by now red car, yi jin died, hee do lost all memories of yi jin and only has the photos/diary to remember that's why she holds no sentiments.

So interesting fact i noticed and i haven't seen people say the same, present day hee do her daughter and hee do's mom have not mentioned the father nor his name, there is a good chance that when hee do got pregnant yi jin decided to change his surname so as the daughter is not connected directly or indirectly with his fathers debts. This is obviously the happy ending. Now my more sad one is simple.. made it even more feasible when hee do said she didn't go to the beach, they got into a car accident lost a part of her memories yi jin died. But.. something that is bugging me very much remember when hee do's mom said she visited Yi jin if he did in fact die then hee do seemed way too indifferent which makes me believe that she might really not even remember him at all..
