No one's accusing her of being selfish. Her not sharing her immediate problem with JBZ and insisting on stealing…
Haha all good. 😊
It looks like he'll finds out her secret in next episodes though so looking forward to us finally moving past this stage 😭
While I understand the intentions, admittedly the writers have been dragging this secret for a while. There's so much more in the novel they could have moved past to already. 😭
No one's accusing her of being selfish. Her not sharing her immediate problem with JBZ and insisting on stealing…
That's still hiding her identity - which is my point that her extent of trust has been consistent regardless of who. Falling in love didn't change that, at least not yet.
"JBZ didn't start a relationship. She forced herself into his house." They mutually used each other at the beginning of the relationship. Mingyi wanted to get in his estate for the GMD / Hanfeng was trying to plant his spy consorts in JBZ's estate and MY was a suitable excuse to reject them.
"Unexpected? She was planning for him to fall for her. " That's true, I concede to that.
Same! Watching her continue to lie to him, even when it wasn’t necessary, while also saying she loves him really…
oh @Leafoflower, you blocked me before I could respond to your comment.
Any way, here you go: I don't know who Erin is but I assume you mean me.
You don't like that she lied and hurt him, I understand that but it is a shallow grasp of the characters.
Providing context and another view point to see a character is reasonable character analysis and feedback. There is need to be offended over it.
"You only ever view the story from the fl’s perspective. " Well no, I see it from both viewpoints, I just pointed out that you have a shallow understanding of the FL. I actually haven't criticized the male lead at all as I understand his viewpoint as well.
I don't know why you are offended that I'm trying to give more perspective on the female leads as I feel like people have a more lack of understanding of her backgrounds and intentions . You actually haven't provided any thoughtful criticism other than you're mad because she lied to him. They both have their own intentions and goals even if we may not like it, that is called character depth.
"And let’s not forget that you were the one who claimed the ml learned to "trust" from his master. " I think you're confusing me with someone else as I haven't talked about the ML master.
No one's accusing her of being selfish. Her not sharing her immediate problem with JBZ and insisting on stealing…
I don't think we are on the same page.
Just because you love someone it doesn't mean you have unconditional trust in them. You can also unconditionally trust someone who is not your lover. These things are not mutually exclusive.
" she didn't seduce him and she's not toying with his emotions and trust." Yeah, duh. It's almost like the ML/FL started this relationship with ulterior motives and to use each other. Again, falling in love was the unexpected variable.
Neither of them started this relationship sincerely which furthers the point as to why she is cautious to fully reveal her identity to him yet.
Edit: You edited and added this to your comment after I had replied "She basically cross-dressed in front of him and that's all." No, it was not "just" cross dressing in front of Master She. That is a gross understatement of the predicament of hiding her identity. They are in a misogynist era where women are looked down upon for having spirit veins. Mingyi is meant to be a PRINCE of a nation. The revelation that all along the Prince and the strongest champion for 7 years of the winning nation is a women is actually not just simply reduced to "cross dressing".
The reason you are frustrated she is not confessing everything to him right away is because you have a shallow…
Is it ep 15 that she said she will not betray his trust anymore? I forget and can't seem to find it, is it maybe an earlier episode?
I'm confused what you mean by hypocrisy then. Hypocrisy would be if she expects Bozai to be always be truthful and honest with her while she lies to him, this is not the case. Do you mean sincere instead?
No one's accusing her of being selfish. Her not sharing her immediate problem with JBZ and insisting on stealing…
She can absolutely love him and trust him but also not want to reveal her identity. Just like while she trusts her master but also hid her identity from him as well.
Romance is new to her - on one hand JBZ genuinely accepts his feelings for her and acts on it. But she is reluctant to do so and hides it - it was only after she was under the delusional that she was able to truly confess her love and she ran away once she realized what happened. Even now she doesn't really know how to handle his affections now that she knows his feelings are sincere.
Her goal from the start was always to steal it then return to her nation and be "useful" again to her mother. Falling in love with each other was an unexpected variable and she protects him sincerely. Unfortunately, she's still shackled to her past and upbringing and that's why it pains her that she needs to fulfil her goal, knowing it will hurt Bozai. Like Bozai, she is a complicated character.
Ultimately, she doesn't know how he will take it, if he will truly accept her as MingXian, or how it will unfold if she reveals her identity, so it's better to reduce the risks.
Trailers show big battles in episodes 22, we are more than half way to the end, anyone knows if there will be…
Novel has a HE but this drama plotline has deviated quiet a bit from the novel so I'm not sure.
Yu Xiao said this drama doesn't have a BE in an interview but I don't know if she was playing it off since Neo was saying she likes BE. So I don't know what to believe.
I am on ep 15 and I told myself if the FL goes in search of antidote despite telling the cat that she will not…
The reason you are frustrated she is not confessing everything to him right away is because you have a shallow understanding of her character.
She is not one dimensional. Like Bozai she has deep trauma too which we only get glimpses of. Despite her lively character she's had a difficult past that is hard for her to detach from. Her purpose all her life has always been a tool, to be a "useful" to her mother and be the champion of her realm.
While she is slowly discovering more about her self and her feelings, it is a bit naive to expect that she will suddenly unshackle herself from those constraints and confess everything for him, especially when she's only started to learn about the real him.
Mind you, a lot of you are thinking solely from his perspective, how it will affect him, how it will hurt him, rather than ALSO thinking how it will be from her point of view. Can she trust him enough? He accepts her as Mingyi but will he really accept her if she reveals she's Mingxian - these are all things she doesn't truly know the answer to yet so she needs to keep her secrets close to her chest. Mind you, she is in an enemy nation with only her companion beast and in her weakest state, of course she has to protect her secrets, even if it pains her to do so.

Actually, people have been accusing her of being selfish. The only people who come to this conclusion are those who lack comprehension and have a poor understanding of her situation or the depth of her character.
You directly pointing out that you're wanting her to give up her identify very easily, something that is very important and can risk her life if in the wrong hands, simply for HIS benefit.
That's a huge oversimplification of her circumstances. She has been used all her life as a tool and finds it difficult to trust and rely on others. She didn't even tell her MASTER, someone who she has been with for years and trusts about her true identity. She hasn't told Zhang Tai, someone who she has been close friends with for longer and would risk her life to save. Why would she give it all up for Jibozai at this point? That doesn't align with her character at all.
While she protects him and others in her own way, revealing her identity is dangerous and something she will always need to carefully consider. People who say otherwise have a shallow grasp of her situation.
It looks like he'll finds out her secret in next episodes though so looking forward to us finally moving past this stage 😭

All good! Its good to have different opinions and outlooks on things, makes discourse more interesting 😊

I'm sorry you feel offended over it, I guess 🤷
Even if he were just defending the YuXaio, then he would have simply told them not to confuse her with the character.
Rather he showed his understanding of her character and gave several detailed reasons why Mingyi justifiably didn't reveal her identity.
Just because you love someone it doesn't mean you have unconditional trust in them. You can also unconditionally trust someone who is not your lover. These things are not mutually exclusive.

27 and Mingyi's relationship is too sweet and this would tear my heart 💔
