I really think that this one is worth watch it or to give it a chance, then I think the following aspects could…
I liked that the screenwriter respected the ending from the webtoon. In the first episode, Sa-On was presented as a former war correspondent and negotiator authorized and certified (even by the FBI). Living abroad, he had succeeded on his own and beyond the fake identity - built by those around him. And in the end, maybe we shouldn't have been surprised that he found himself where he was an authentic person without the restrictions he had been subjected to by his family for over 20 years. When he was desperate enough, the only place where he had built a part of his life by himself, was in the armed conflict zone. We also have to take into account that the area where he went to negotiate to release the KOREAN hostages, has no connection with any ongoing conflict ( in weebtoon -in fact, this is manhwa) . They just wanted to reiterate the initial idea with which the circle of action closes. Maybe we should take it personally. We forget that these series are made by Koreans, with Koreans and about Koreans, and none of these aspects make the connection with any real-life news or a documentary. Whether we like it or not, to paraphrase Shakespeare: that (screen)play is done, And they'll strive to please the watchers for another (screen)play.
I really think that this one is worth watch it or to give it a chance, then I think the following aspects could decide you in one direction or another. I started it because I observed that: from 56,000 watchers, more than half of them put a comment or an emoji. Thus, almost everyone who saw it or at least tried it, took the time to comment; if you have a time to comment for me, it was a good starting point to watch it. I found out that it is an adaptation of a webtoon I had read before - I have only read two. and I do not regret it. :) the main reason is in the spoiler.
Hi! I didn't think I would comment so quickly, not even a month after I created an account on this site. However, it's starting to get strange how the dialogues of this drama are interpreted. This one is made after a WEBTOON. Why is there a fan base for something that has no place in it? Why do dialogues from a webtoon (IMAGINARY) then - KDRAMA - have to be interpreted as part of real, terrible, ugly life - the one in current wars? When such achievements are made precisely to escape, to enter another world? So, this one is made by one Koreean for the Koreeans. I do not speak Koreean, I do not know much about their traditions. However, this drama is not about on-going politico- military conflicts/wars. I discovered KDRAMA not long ago, much less this type of drama, but this one has: - an extraordinarily well-written script, with dialogues made for intelligent people, with plenty of lines to remember as quotes for future use; - the direction is very well-done; - we have brilliant actors, not only the two main ones but also the negative ones, and with impeccable music. Why does it have to be a note of international politics where it really isn't needed. To return to the initial comment(et, bien, retournons a nos moutons). Actually, why do you watch KDRAMAs? I watch it precisely to avoid seeing all kinds of news that ruin my day. Considering that I can't get involved directly, I gave up. Then, why should we argue about things that we can't solve HERE; maybe, which maybe were never even imagined, neither by the author, nor by the screenwriters, much less by those who made them appear on TV, in our homes. Therefore, leave the political-military comments, the ones full of hate and sarcasm for the chanells that have news, wars, political debates, etc. on their programs. If you like Kdrama, make positive or negative comments on something that actually exists in the series. If you really have to interpret it as you imagine, there are definitely places where you even have a cheerleader to echo you. Finally, this drama is one of the best of the last year.
