I'm on ep 16. I don't get it. How did a new born survive on his own locked in a shed for 5 years? Not as if he…
We see guards bringing him a meal at '15:55'. I think that's how he survived. No one taught him how to eat, talk, or walk, but they fed him at least once a day so he wouldn't die.

I just hate Ye Hua's model of protection.
Ye yua is the name of the male lead in the drama : 'Three Lives, Three Worlds, White Twilight Tears' alias 'Eternal Love'; one the most popular cdrama xianxia ever back then.

for reall!!! people be blaming my girl HRY for not communicating but like the loss of her child was so painful…
I agree with you, but not entirely. I think she really wanted to kill him at first, then she changed her goal after realizing that even if she did, or even if she hurt him, he wouldn't understand, he would always think he hadn't done anything wrong and would never try to understand a mortal.

time flows differently for mortals and immorals so that could explain why he didn’t come save her cause her…
You're right, I forgot to take that into account, but even though!!!
He didn't really know the mortal world, he just assumed it would be peaceful for her to live there for 10 years just because they don't have any power?
In my opinion, he's wrong for deciding for her without consulting her! She could have assumed the consequences of her actions herself without regret. One could say he did it out of love, but if that were the case, then he should have informed himself about the mortal world before abandoning her defenseless, knowing her behavior, and so for so long.
For example, he could have hired some fairly well-trained guards, but no, nothing!!!

Okay, I caught up on the last episode, and I'm all for a female lead, even if BJS, after sealing her power, was going to take the punishment in her place. Because she never said she couldn't handle it herself, and she wouldn't die from it either. It would be less heartbreaking than what she suffered in the mortal world.
For their first romantic tribulation in the mortal world, neither of them really did the right thing. Living as a mortal doesn't just mean living in the mortal world; it also means talking to them, trying to understand them, adopting their culture, behavior, and way of life, and not just staying secluded in a beautiful mansion where money flows freely.
For me, HRY understood this point (even if not directly) and went to sympathize with them, trying to help them, but she broke their pact by using her power on several occasions. BJS, on the other hand, didn't try that; he just wanted to experience his love with HRY.

I understand his point that, as immortals, they live longer, and that if they had to worry about a any single mortal, it would lead to endless suffering. But I find it amusing that he suggests a romantic tribulation in the mortal world, and that they live like mortals without really trying to understand how mortals live actually.
So I feel sorry for HRY, because he abandoned her in the mortal world for ten years, without even checking on her (because if he had done that at least once during the first five years, he would have discovered she had a child). But he abandoned her in a world he neither knew nor understood, without any protection for ten years.

My hypothesis is that during these 10 years: HRY, after losing her powers and being abandoned by BJS, later discovered she was pregnant, and she decided to have this child as she loved children so much. That said, being an immortal, this pregnancy weakened her greatly. Six years later, she fell ill; she tried everything but couldn't cure him. She then went to ask the immortals for help, or at least to help her contact BJS, but they refused to help her with anything. And from what I can see, BJS apparently didn't see her again for 10 years, leaving her truly alone and defenseless.
The child eventually died, and years later, BJS came back like a flower to relive his love, hoping that she had learned "the lesson"😒 after ignoring her for 10 years.
And for those who would say that female revenge is excessive, let me remind you that it was and still is the heart of a mother speaking. A wounded, abandoned mother who has lost her child has nothing left to lose.

Finally caught up to ep 18, waiting for ep 19.The first 18 episodes is basically Romance 40%, Backstory Flashback…
For the female lead's behavior, here are my thoughts : HRY, after losing her powers and being abandoned by BJS, later discovered she was pregnant, and she decided to have this child as she loved children so much. That said, being an immortal, this pregnancy weakened her greatly. Six years later, her son fell ill; she tried everything but couldn't cure him. She then went to ask the immortals for help, or at least to help her contact BJS, but they refused to help her with anything. And from what I can see, BJS apparently didn't see her again for 10 years, leaving her truly alone and defenseless.

'just' ???
There's obviously more to it; we have spoilers in episode 18. If you pay close attention, the guy with the vase that BJS met when he was going to buy the osmanthus cake mentions the other reason in disguise.
