What happened was that the ML found out about the plot that his adoptive father (Li) was planning to kill his real father , the husband of Cheng Jin Zhi, so he ran away to tel everyone but the villains found him and apparently overdosed him with opium whichmessed up his mind and threw him in the sea , he struggled to speak for a while are he was rescued and his mind was a mess unable to identify the villains

Because she thinks that he didn’t warn her about her husband being murdered but there’s a reason he couldn’t tell
