I'd say this movie is pretty okay. The romance isn't really good in my opinion. I felt like it was more like a friendship (just because everything was moving so fast and there wasn't many romantic moments). However, I did like how they showed that it isn't all sunshine and rainbows to deal with what she has. Definitely recommend if you are looking for something about two strangers connecting about their issues.
I had so much hope for it in the beginning but then it kinda fell off. Don't get me wrong they did in fact have chemistry and the acting was amazing, but the story just had so many pointless scenes/plots. I feel like it didn't focus enough on the gambling aspect. It was just kinda rushed in.
And I have beef with whoever wrote the character Secretary Wang. Like are we suppose to hate her or feel sorry for her? I feel like her character was just not consistent.
Overall, if it wasn't for Song Hye Kyo's acting and the soundtrack, I wouldn't have finished it. I rate it a 7/10.
Personally for me, this is such a good drama. It's nothing out of the ordinary, but the fact that everything served a purpose, amazed me. Everyone played their part really well. It is filled with cliches, but you still don't know how it's going to play out. They also made sure to tie up any loose ends. Definitely recommend. 10/10.
It's honestly not bad. I personally wouldn't be recommending it to anyone but if you like sweet, fluffy, vampire…
(This is only my opinion) Overall rating = 7/10 Rewatch value = 0/10 FL= female lead, ML=male lead
Dislikes: - the FL and ML didn't have any romance (based on the storyline). Literally until the last few minutes she was still in love with her ex not him. It kinda switched quickly and didn't seem genuine. - it felt like it was filmed by an amateur. There were many bad angles, lightening, and shaky camera scenes. Even the editing and voice overs felt off. - ML's English or the fact that he went to the U.S. It was annoying or weird to hear the English parts at times but the actual placing of English words was okay and flowed. I just hated that his character background wasn't given enough time to shine. He mentioned very quickly that he didn't fit in the U.S. and I wished that topic would have been explored more (instead they focused on the acting aspect). Maybe the FL could have related to him by her not fitting in the human world as a vampire.
Likes: - the FL's and the landlord's acting was phenomenal. I genuinely liked it. Both did an amazing job to nail their roles. - The kisses. I'm glad they didn't wait until the very end to do it. - Costumes were chosen amazingly
It's honestly not bad. I personally wouldn't be recommending it to anyone but if you like sweet, fluffy, vampire movies with a comedic and indie feel than go for it.
Everyone is complaining about the ending but can we talk about the incest or the manipulation or how about the…
HE LICKED HER BACK!!! From my understanding, they had the same dad different mom, therefore, they were half-siblings. That was so weird to me and uncomfortable. For a second, I thought maybe she liked him or they were step siblings but I guess that scene was shown to show how close they were to each other for him to allow her to manipulate him that bad.
Also, the fact that even Tachibana said no one cares about your scar, made me laugh. I wished they would have shown her insecurities a bit better for me to sympathize with her. But nope, it was executed poorly.
In addition, HER FRIEND LEGIT ALMOST HAD SEX WITH HER FRIEND'S HUSBAND. And they pretended like it was okay because he couldn't get hard???? Like PLZZ. Also, how have they been married for 20+years and never seen each other!?!? I was ready for her to leave her husband. He may not have planned for it to happen (them meeting at the hotel) but he was for sure going along with it.
I personally would have preferred her to be alone, but given her age and her need to find someone to start a family, she had to make a choice. She chose happiness over convenience. Even though he did lie, he made her happy when he was being truthful in his actions. Compared to her friend who only recently found out he was in love with her and wanted her to love him back. But she didn't owe him that love. He missed out all these years and then suddenly wants her to make the choice him (Hiroto) or me (Rintaro)??? Nope. He's a coward for leaving if I'm being honest.
I definitely think it is worth watching because of how well the movie was executed. It left you feeling many emotions (happy, mad, sad, angry, confused, etc.). It showed exactly what it advertised: the problems and experiences that come with a long distance relationship. I personally recommend it not for the story but for the execution. It was edited and pieced in such an interesting way that makes it worth watching.
Because she was kissing him out of love rather than pleasure/energy, she turned into a human (no more red aura) and forgot all her memories. I'm guessing that because they had formed a connection of true love, they still had some familiarity with each other.
