Everyone is talking about the pool scene and the last VegasPete scene, but no one is talking about Pete's resignation. Pete finally accepts his feelings. Straight back, graceful bow, close up of his badge. Even his expression... Such a great scene.
Vegas tells Pete he loves him, Pete chose him, but then that pool scene made me cry like a baby, and then they left us stranded.
I was cursing BOC so bad when the end credits started rolling and VegasPete are only mentioned and not shown. Then I cursed them for making me cry again because of the perfect VegasPete ending. My VegasPete heart is full.
Also, Build did a good job again with that pool scene. His expression, the scream, the pain. Perfection.
I think Gun meant to say that Nampheung is Vegas' or Kinn's mother. He is the father. I mean, it's never said when Vegas or Kinn's mother died. We know nothing about their mothers. And if she is Kinn's mother it would make sense why he prefers Kinn to Vegas. Why does Korn kill him right before he tries to say something about Naumpheung? It was something bad for Korn, that's for sure. That was just my guess. But overall a good plot for killing him before he said anything. It leaves fans creating their own theories and wondering what he meant.
I was disappointed when Korn appeared. I was hoping that both Vegas and Kinn are finally free from their fathers.
First Big and now Chan. ππ
It's really over. Rewatching it just won't do it, it won't be the same. It will be difficult to move on. The post-depression has already begun. It is day after episode and itβs pretty sad knowing there is no more waiting for next Saturday and new episode. π
I watched the series with 6 or 7 seasons. Many of them had one season a year, meaning they aired for 6 or 7 years. And for none of those series have I been this sad that it's ending. ππππππ
VegasPete in episode 13 are still painful to watch. Loving someone can be really tormenting sometimes. Pete's pain in that bar scene comes from deep within his soul because he have feelings for someone who hurt him in the worst possible way, yet he can't escape them. Both his feelings, memories and Vegas.
Even if Pete ran away from Vegas, and Vegas is still holding to that hope that Pete will be back, neither Vegas nor Pete can escape the memories and their feelings. Memories are the worst. There are painful scenes of events from the past, memories that force them to recall shared moments. Every little thing brings back memories. They suffocate, come at the worst possible time and hurt like crazy. The separation hurts both Vegas and Pete, it hurts a lot, they wither one after the other in both soul and body. They hurt each other when they are together, but they are physically hurt by being apart. It's easier to suffer, cry and fall apart when you're alone. No one understands and most of the time sympathy doesn't help. They can't sleep, they can't eat, they just remember and long for each other. Healing and letting go is hard.
Even when Khun tries to cheer him up, Pete is still miserable but he is still smiling. To hide his pain. Before, he would always smile with visible teeth, a bright full smile. Now he just purse his lips and fake a smile. He is so broken that even most significant part of him is gone.
It doesn't help that Vegas showed up at the bar on purpose. Yes, he manipulated Porsche into helping him, but that's the only way he can see Pete. Even if they are bad for each other, they can't be apart and gravitate towards each other. The reunion finally forced them to face their feelings.
Pete doesn't want to see Vegas, he wants Vegas gone, to leave him alone, especially after everything that happened between them. And no matter how many times Vegas asks him to hurt him and he deserves it, no matter how much Pete wants to, he can't hurt him, just like Vegas can't hurt Pete anymore. Both cannot escape their feelings.
When Vegas finally hugged him it hurt so much Pete couldn't take it anymore and he falls completely apart. It felt like someone was cutting out his soul, Pete's pain is raw. His hurt comes from the depths of his soul. It seems as if he cannot live. It's hard to be strong when every part of body and soul is aching.
It's not easy for Vegas either. Seeing Pete suffer because of him. Vegas is a different person. Pete changed him. He regrets everything he did to Pete, he can only cry, say he's sorry, asking for forgiveness. The only person who can comfort Pete is the person who hurt him the most. Pete has comforted Vegas in the past. Now Vegas offers that comfort to Pete by letting him completely fall apart.
Vegas hurt him, treated him like shit, tortured him, gave him pleasure, broke him. Mentally and psychologically. And yet Pete seeks comfort. Sometimes only the person who hurt and broke us can put us back together.
Pete touches Vegas' cheek one last time, Vegas holds Pete's hand because he doesn't want to let go. Both are two broken pieces that can only be whole together.
Trash guy is both curse and blesing. If he hadn't appeared, the kiss would have been out of desperation. But they split up, this time Vegas leaving Pete. Pete pulled himself together. They need to let each other go because they are both broken and they both need time apart to put themselves together, for the heart to heal again and be like it used to be, ready to give it to each other, full of love and without fear of being hurt again.
What a difference between VegasPete, handcuffs and guns in two episodes.
In episode 10 Vegas tells (lies) to Porsche to run away with him. Also told him if he stayed in prison he can't do anything. Vegas frees Porsche from prison and the handcuffs without any problems. He needs him to be free, after all Porsche is just a pawn in Vegas' game. Vegas give Porsche chance to decide to run away with him or stay in prison.
In that same episode, Pete stops Porsche and Vegas in prison. When Vegas try to go at Pete, Pete points the gun at Vegas and releases the safety of the gun. It's a warning to stay away. He was ready to shoot Vegas, but he can't because Vegas is part of the family. There will be consequences.
Now in episode 13 it's a completely different story. This time Pete is the one in handcuffs and in prison. Different from Porsche. Vegas has no plans to release Pete. When he reluctantly decided to let Pete go, he begs him to stay with him. Vegas needs him, for different reasons then he needs Porsche. He don't give Pete chance to choose. This time, Pete tells Vegas that the choice is his, stay and live in prison which is Vegas' life because of his father, or give himself to the main family.
"No matter how bad I'm, if itβs for a person I love I will never hurt his feelings."
But Vegas hurt Pete's feelings. By calling him a fool and telling him his opinion doesn't matter, treating him like a pet and an emotional outlet. Just because he doesn't show feelings doesn't mean Pete doesn't have them. Pete holds a knife to his neck and tells Vegas how he's been treating him, and asks why he's still in handcuffs. Then Vegas realizes that he hurt and is still hurting Pete. And unlike Porsche, Vegas reluctantly released Pete from his handcuffs. Unlike Tawan and Porsche, there's no way he's going to hurt Pete again or let Pete get hurt. And unlike with Tawan who he killed without remorse or regret, Vegas is sorry for what he did to Pete. He apologizes for really hurting the person he loves.
This time when Pete points a gun at Vegas, it's still a sign to stay away. But when Vegas gets to Pete, the safety remains on and his finger is unsteady on the trigger. He can't shoot even when Vegas begs him to. This time the consequences would be the same, Vegas is part of a second family after all. But Pete can't shoot because of his feelings either.
Poor that random extra who is playing a bartender (Kong) who was just doing his job and decided to take out the trash with the smile on his face to make matters worse, at the worst possible time, ruining VegasPete moment.
He appeared only for couple of minutes in two episodes and became most hated character and main villain of KPTS.
He became famous without even trying. And will forever be known as the "trash guy" from episode 13 who is hated by the entire VegasPete fandom. That will do wonders for his career.
So I love Tankhun the most.I wanted to write this whole analysis about him. But I didn't read the whole kp novel…
I like your analysis. And I agree with you that he is stuck at being a child. He reminds me of that person that no one pays attention to because everyone thinks he's weird and tiring , but he's actually like you said very observant and smart. And yes, Khun is amazing.
Or that one Deutch Banks employee who stayed working overtime and just as he decided to go home got a free show at the end of the day. ππππ
After last night's episode, some hard liquor was needed to process everything that happened. What an emotional rollercoaster. I think I'll be emotionally recovering from this episode all week. Heck, no show or episode has ever made me cry this much. VegasPete damaged me emotionally but KimChay made me cry like a baby. πππ
That scene behind Yok's bar is my favorite VegasPete scene ever. Gentle touches, a hug, them putting their heads together,Pete crying, being miserable together. When Pete/Build started crying, I was gone. π They were giving me Lucas/Elliot vibes in that scene.
Also, there's only one episode left. π³ How quickly the time passed.
