I'm impressed you've read everything because there are so many! I started writing something myself over a month ago, but it's still rough an unfinished. (Mine will be no smut, and not sure if I will post it). Please feel free to friend or DM me on here if you are interested!

Hmm, I guess perhaps the controversy did not spread to the west? LYX seems to easily handle all the minor rumors that I've seen pop up. I'm a little surprised that he has a controversial past, but no one is perfect, not even LYX. XD Hopefully, he's learned and/or moved past it and it won't be a problem for him again in the future.
(I'm curious, but I'm also not sure I actually want to know.)

@goodrick - Merely speculating based on the limited promotional materials (posters) and an ad for A Chinese Ghost Story (2ha tie-in), I think some level of torture/injury will be shown. Both allude to CWN trapped in chains at very least. But you can rest assured that torture will not be depicted at anywhere near the intensity of the book because it would not pass censorship in China as written. I can relate to your concerns though. There are a some particular scenes in the novel (not just cerain ones related to the topic you mentioned) that I know I could not handle watching on screen.

Thanks autumn carrot. Despite looking it up multiple times and actually understanding wuxia and xainxia, I guess I still mix up the terms in my head. So i got it backwards again! Oops. Regardless, I prefer your and others answers, that 2ha is some of both!
Forgot to answer favorite character, but i can't really choose between the two leads. What would one be without the other? ;)

My vote is that it's an amazing story worth reading (if you can handle the triggers and the word count), but I can try to answer your questions.
Love triangle, kind of, but it's not cliche, and it's necessary to the plot.
CGI, probably going to be a lot, but yes, it's a big budget production.
Ashes of Love is Wuxia not Xianxia right? You're right that 2ha is more realistic than fantasy realm.

I've also only seen a few of her videos. One of them was for And The Winner Is Love. She said she LYX's entrance (floating down from the sky in flowing white robes) was horrible and cliche. To each their own I guess, but I loved the dramatic entrance and can't wait to see LYX as Chu Wanning.

That's disappointing that you haven't gotten any response and worse that your comments have been deleted. Your article topic sounds interesting to me, and I agree with your opinion about MDL's policies regarding the BL topic vs. other triggering topics.

Were y'all perhaps successful in your plea? I saw this new article includes a few BL dramas on the list. (Immortality was not on it).

BL is obviously not the overall theme of the article, but the BL topic is specifically mentioned by the author for the the reason one of these was chosen.

Chapter 141, only MR gets to see CWN naked, definitely no exception for the girl who is crushing on himself (MR).

Chapter 190, when nobody but CWN's own disciples can visit him, but MR still spends the entire chapter feeling overly jealous and protective.

Huh, you're right about the color scheme! I don't think it was the same set though because I watched some BTS of the ad for A Chinese Ghost Story and most parts (except for the red background with lanterns) were shot on a green screen. But I love how this part of the ad feels like a 3,000 steps reference!
