What an incredibly unlikable family. I honestly have no idea why the uncle even helped the family any. They treated him like absolute garbage, especially his sister in law. They should have been left to face the consequences of their own actions alone. Call me callous, but it's the cold truth. That was the downfall of the movie to me, you can't even empathize with half the main characters.
The villagers never changed from season 1 to now. Still the same rumor spreading superstitious ignorant assholes, even after pushing Goto away in Season 1 and begging him to come back. The show is almost hard to watch because of them.
Jake Adelstein is such an obnoxious narcissist that stretches the truth in his books and reporting. Then when it comes to this show he takes it to the next level since it is almost completely fiction anyway. The show makes him hilariously look like a macho White/Jewish savior who can fight multiple Yakuza and bed many different women with ease while at the same time being this wizard reporter. The rest of the cast, setting, and story really saved this show from being a dumpster fire. If it focused solely on Jake it would have been a disaster.
I tried to continue watching this so many times, but the acting and editing is next level bad. Not to mention the special effects look like something you would see in an early 2000's American CW television show. You could clearly see the green screens and tell how the sets/props were set up, it just broke the immersion so much I couldn't continue any further.
Never have I seen a bigger bunch of assholes who are side characters in a show. The entire staff of the publishing company is toxic. I feel it overshadows the romance in the show.
This has one of the worst endings I have ever seen in a Kdrama. It's like the writer had an axe to grind with men and feels like women would be better off living on their own without ever worrying about a true legitimate serious relationship. Someone somewhere worked on this show with a lot of relationship baggage.

According to Reddit, none of them are together anymore except with the possibility of Chii and Akipon. Season 2 was kind of a bust compared to Season 1.
The worst was Tamifull cheating on Makio with multiple men and him basically crashing and burning into living out of his car after losing his job due to his outbursts over said cheating.
Also Aroma was found to be a sex worker, basically a Gigolo. He was rumored to be someone Tamifull cheated with.
None of the couples are following each other on Instagram anymore.
The Arrowhead neon drenched streamer is one of the most annoying characters I've ever encountered in any TV show ever, including non Asian TV. I had to fast forward every section he was in. He is obnoxiously over the top, which comes off as terrible acting to me. Dropped the show due to this idiot and the absolute brain dead stupidity of some of the characters. How was this show ever popular?
