if you are okay with that, I personally think it all depends on how much you want to invest and expect for the outcome
if I'm too lazy or whatever to put the work in it's one thing but not starting because I can't accept anything than a high level outcome in no time is another
you are never too old to learn what you want, it is just more difficult.
in elementary school all children in class had mandatory choir, I was the only one who didn't, the teacher told me that my speaking voice was so high and screechy, it wouldn't be a good voice for singing, never successfully learned reading notes, even after 3 years of guitar lessons where I didn't really learn anything and I was more manipulated into it by friends or let myself be manipulated had a few piano lessons as an adult, don't remember anything have a cheap keyboard at home that collects dust ^^
