I used to think so too, but I've discovered that it usual with Thai series to first film a trialer to use as a pilot to use for promotion and to find sponsors & after a while to start to actually film the whole series and to release a new trailer closer to the premiere date for the series.
Inbetween these 2 trailers a lot of things can change: some parts of the plot, locations maybe some actors, etc., etc.
So I've learned to take the first trailer as an idea/ a hint of what we might expect sometime in the future, but not a definite thing.

The actor for Alex looks like he grew up in North America, so he uses English when he runs out of Taiwanese/ Mandarin. They probably kept a similar background for his character since it seems like his Mandarin is accented as well.
And so English probably slipped out for Alex and Xun An probably continued responding in the same language since he understood but also probably to 'prove himself that he belongs, that he's just as cool, etc. etc.' (Not saying thatbit make sense but I did notice in real life every so often we set little tests for our significant others and especially our best friend's significant other if they're cool about this, that or the other - not in a harmful, toxic way. )
This is my speculation, but maybe Bai Lang switches to English if he's mostly getting drunk around Alex at the bar. We saw them have a few conversations before and they switch between languages every so often, which honestly happenss quite often if you're multilingual & especially if the person you're speaking with understands both languages too.
It cuts down on time having to search for a word in another language when you're most comfortable using a certain word or expression to express a certain thought or emotion.

I'll celebrate and congratulate anyone that wants to disclose it themselves first, but I think from now on I'll only ever discuss the characters' relationships and actions in any future series that I watch.
If I end up being wrong later on imma just proclaim it's queerbait !
you're good. unfortunately the series is just so short. maybe they will make a 2nd season, like they did for To My Star? Its the same director after all.
I've been looking everywhere for people to mention this, but I haven't seen anybody yet, so maybe I'm the crazy one... so I'm going to rant:
I do not enjoy the directing/editing in this series very much... and I'm not talking about the sound effects - I took those in stride (thinking its supposed to bring a cutesy, bubblegum sort of feel to the series).
What I don't like is that the scenes take waaay tooo looong to cut away from. The actors finished their lines and then there's a few more seconds of the camera just being on them & there's not even anymore non verbal acting or interaction of any kind... just the actor standing there (kinda like waiting for the "CUT") or 3-5 camera angle cuts on the same moment & on the same character
... and the flashback to a scene that just happened in the same episode a few minutes prior.... why?...
I can't fault the actors. I think they did a fine job until now... although that last scene with Nubsib and Gene... what was that? they are trying to have an argument but there so much dead space between their lines... what was that directing/editing ? Gene's supposed to be upset with Nubsib and, I think, they have more time staring at each other than arguing...
I'm trying to watch the series because the promise of a peak behind the scenes of the BL filming world sounds interesting & I do like the actors, but I have to watch it with my finger on the forward button every time a scene is not ending soon enough or there's another flashback to the scene from 5 minutes prior...

yes, embarrassing... obviously I wasn't paying attention to it at all... I've re-watched the episode and this time focused on the product :)) its annoying on principle that there's product placement, but at least it made sense for there to be a snack at a table where people are also drinking and eating other things. not as jarring as stopping the plot to brush their teeth or to drink a multivitamin supplement... although I'm scared that there still time for it to happen. :)) still did a rewind after just to watch only them again. "to clean my eyes" - so to say... :D
Episode 3 was the best!! I am tearing up...legit....everything was so perfect, I especially loved the transitions…
I think we have to thank the director for the quality of the episodes so far. Hopefully the series goes strong like this until the very last second. :D
