Finished watching this lakorn a few days back. Excellent - plot, the essemble casts and chemistry. Favourite lakorn.
The FL seems dizzy but she has depth just her way is unconventional and refreshing. The ML has found his home, finally. Cliché but home is really where the heart is. Papa Grace has lots of hearts while Aunt Vee is a no nonsense voice of truth. Love it and thanks for giving us such a wonderful drama with lots of love ❤️
I was bracing myself to watch the final 6 episodes. However, emotionally tugging death scenes for me were of Qian Zhou, Sun Lang and Yuan Lu.
The ending scenes and plot were disservice for Yu Shi San and Ning Yuan Zhou. Their final moments werent epic and didnt hit the emotional impact since they've suffered de-characterization and logic suspension.
I comprehend Ren Ru Yi's final decision she stayed true, with her single mindedness in completing her mission ie to wipe out Bei Pan's King, Crown Prince and other clans' leaders in one strike. E.g., She taught the suicidal sword move to LTG.
The mercurial mood of LTG that set the ball rolling for episodes 39 and 40. Charging into battle without discussing military strategies and formation especially with resources constraint. The discomfort LTG felt earlier when soldiers singing praises at Yang Ying identifying her as Ning Toer's sister and Ren Ru Yi's disciple.
That isnt how 6 Realms Hall works with Ning Toer's is shown as having cautionary nature and as strategist. There were also other experienced leaders Yu Shi San and Deng Hui. Though LTG is stubborn but he listened to Ru Yi solely, and she always in sync with Ning Toer's plan.
Chen Yue doing " Rose's arms outstretched move in Titanic" on a horse in the midst battle. I believed the same rule applies cycling hands-free to horse riding as well. If romantic scene must be slotted then might as well she "nian gou" bodily wrap/stick to Yu Shi San.
These are some of the peeves with the script writer. But in responding to Ning Toer's Weibo msg, I didn't regret accompanying them in their journey though I sincerely wish that the script writer had treated Yu Shi San and Ning Yuan Zhou endings with more finesse befitting their potrayed personalities in all the earlier 38 episodes.
I still sometime come here and feel pity about "unlikable person" ) If we look at the picture widely, then see…
During my initial watch, I have similar views in which the ML was insensitive but on my 2nd watch, I noticed these:
1) From 1st episodes till the end, until Gao always viewed Li Xun as his main opponent someone he needed to compete and win.
2) During the presentation, Li Xun mentioned "we showed the drafted PPT to make a comparision", where Gao can easily carry on the bluff because ML didn't point out the weaknesses of Gao & Zhu Yun during his explanation to the potential client for Blue Crown Project. But Gao take it personally. We as the viewers got caught off with the "intonation" because we were used to Li Xun rough exterior/behaviour.
3) During the handover of Blue Crown App to the Zhang Xiaopei (Project Manager), no doubt Li Xun didn't ask the consent from Gao but IMHO , I believed Li Xun felt that this project embodies 3 of them ( Li Xun, Gao & Zhu Yun) as one team, so he acted as one unit. He sincerely thought that Gao would not hesitate to handover the app as well to save another team member.
The only time I felt that Li Xun treatment over Gao in negative way was when he hacked/cracked code after Gao refused to let him joined the Competition Project.
Moreover, I also believed Karma was in play because the codes and winning the Competition Project primarily contributed by Li Xun. Gao's part was in coming up with the concept paper. He was using that in his application for his Master Program in which is deceitful itself.
Zhu Yun - there is a lot to say about her with her one track of mind in most of her actions.
I haven't read the novel so I am quite unsure about Forever and Ever. One and Only was sooo good, I loved everything…
I have read the book and watched OaO as well as read the comments in here. I get the some viewers' comments on wanting ZSC being depicted as the former general still i.e., ZSC version 2.0 with only the setting change.
I watched until 10 episodes and for me the present day ZSC still retained his former characteristics i.e., humbleness, caring, involve, intelligent etc. We as the viewers watched that both past and present ZSC was thrust out from their families with the previous off to the border while the modern went to overseas to study.
Remembered when General ZSC first puzzled on how to treat CSY and he was awkward when the 1st time he had to carry her to her room after she fell asleep at the library? Of course, over the course of time he did get better. But off and on, he did consult with Advisor Xue and the Nanxia 2nd Prince (the monk) at times.
Moreover, we have to remember that the General ZSC has more than a decade living together with CSY even though he was off to war most of the times but he had more dealings and time spent with CSY. While he has longer time to build his armies and what we saw was General ZSC was at his peak.
As for the present ZSC, he has the commanding quiet authoritative figure in his Chemistry Research environment. He is deploying the same methodology in building his relationship with CSY and after a course of time, he will be in a better footing. Same strategy in the family business, ZSC has the plan (research subject) but he need to find the appropriate method to execute them out.
It just that we saw from the initial outlay from the modern ZSC, hence we as the viewers are impatience and started to compare the post and present.
The haunting and heart wrenching ending for me was ZSC where he was dealt with a cruel beginning until the end. I feel that he believed his death would bring a closure to everyone since his whole life was treated as a threat to the throne and the ministers.
Viewers in general would be able to accept a star-crossed lovers but not injustice and ZSC's death was such an injustice which ever you look at it. His good name and triumphs was erased instead replaced with besmirch.
Moreover, since he dropped his sword he had accepted his end and all that he has given during his lifetime to people at large except for CSY because the moments and sharing with her was limited, and restricted due to both positions and circumstances. I sort of thought that ZSC might felt that it was a never ending story being pulled at all the ways, it all came back to him started with the former emperor (his so called brother).
While CSY, her second so called being alive was at Western state in the mansion and rightfully she sought such closure as well.
Alternatively, I was thinking that CSY can opt to be a nun after her engagement was called off. Then she can continuously stay at the Western state and together with ZSC.
Started watching again ep1. Previously, I halted because of sad ending though I cheated and watched all the highlights and short clips. But kept it to binge watch once Forever & Ever starts.
I read the novel... such a beautiful haunting story and great idea to have the historical plot stands on its own though due to getting around the "reincarnation" part.
One question though, would the episodes 23 and 24 be forever lock? I purchased the VIP hoping not going through with all this b.s.
