Why would people stop paying for VIP if it reached 10k quickly? In fact more people would buy VIP if it reached 10k because it encourages people who maybe weren't watching before to check it out because the heat is high. General audience people take up the largest part of the market and they are more inclined to watch something that is being talked about a lot.
Iqiyi is not going to sabotage their own drama like that, doing so costs them more money and their reputation in the long run. Regardless of all this it's not like MM did poorly.
I was thinking about watching this drama, but then I came here and found out that it's 59 episodes long. The 24…
For some dramas, like modern dramas, 24 episodes is just right. For Xianxia, Wuxia and historical dramas 40-60 episodes is needed sometimes. Some of the books these dramas are based on have like 300 chapters. I don't deny some of them have filler but long dramas means amazing world building and character development and multi-layered story that 20 episodes could never allow for.
This drama does not reach 10k heat index it's almost finished . This reach 9k in 3 days then why not 1k in 2 weeks…
This makes no sense. They would have invested a lot of money into the drama and promotions. Why would they purposely sabotage their own drama's heat index and success? Especially as they haven't done well in the last year with their other dramas. This would be an extremely bizarre business decision with no discernable positive outcome. 😅
And the truth is very few Iqiyi dramas have broke 10,000 in the last year or so (save for those that are genres that appeal to wider general audiences) So Moonlight Mystique has done fine.
It only had like 60 ratings when it was 8.7. The more ratings that come in the more varied the ratings are going to be and the more it's going to fluctuate. It's normal.
I agreed. Some scenes, the lighting and editing a bit off. Like I felt they overdo the ‘special moments’ with…
Yeah! those parts made me cringe a little bit. It's not unusual for a drama to have them. But they seem weirdly out of place when they do happen in this one for some reason. Pacing is a bit off. slow in some places, super fast in others. It's definitely not so bad that it makes the whole drama bad or impossible to watch or anything, (at least for me) but it is something I noticed. There is enough good to keep me watching for now.
I know the perception of chemistry is subjective but I feel the chemistry between the leads is pretty fitting…
I've not seen any of their kiss scenes yet, So I'm not judging on those. But I have to admit, I'm finding their chemistry kind of meh. It's not bad or anything, but it's not standing out. Yeah they're adults, but I feel like adult characters should still have chemistry. I'm not really feeling it yet. But I've only seen four episodes. So there is still time for that.
Leads are good actors it seems, attractive... and they're doing a good job playing their characters. Just the chemistry is flat so far. Still worth watching for now though.
