Finally finished it. It was abt 80% similar to the books. They mostly added new scenes, but one important plot…
Yu Rong was going out with her boss, Xingjie, but of course he wasn't serious about her. He started going on various blind dates and courting a woman from a prestigious family.
Xi Guang found out from LYS and kindly sent her a warning via an anonymous email so she wouldn't be used and discarded. But YR figured out it could only be her and thought that XG couldn't have had any good intentions. YR then sent various dirt (some work stuff as well, besides the cheating, from what I understood) she had on her "bf" to his grandpa and the girl's family as well. And she pretended she didn't know anything abt him cheating, but that XG must have used her phone when all the friends went out to eat once. She didn't want him to know it was her, YR, because she feared her "bf" would retaliate against her.
Later, XG asked Xingjie's father to clearly investigate and also uncovered some shady dealings he had. LYS's grandpa didn't ever blame her to begin with tho, just his shitty son and grandson blamed her.
Anyway, I was looking forward to understand ZX's involvement - he apparently also gave YR ideas on what to do, but it wasn't clear what he did or say exactly. A shame they removed this part. Was also looking forward to seeing her ex taking revenge on YR, since this also wasn't shown in the book or even mentioned (I just assumed he would find out and retaliate).

Kinda disappointed with the last episode. The powerplant in 2025, the CGI is so bad... Yak!!And in 2028, Lin was…
tbf Asians do be staying young looking for a long time. Lots of examples, but look at Taeyeon who's 36 and tell me if she looks any different from before
I know many won't like my comment, but i loved this drama till episode 20 ish and then had to FF a lot. the Slow…
I think this would have worked it they made it less than 20 episodes. The lesser, the better, because then they could remove the boring parts and keep the plot fast paced. The slower it is, the more boring it is
Everything in E13 was in the book, up until (and including) the part in E14 where FL agrees to ML openly pursuing…
The book didn't have her visit to the grandparents or their choosing and tasting new cafeteria food. Both her avoiding ML and the cafeteria food becoming better was only briefly mentioned. The new year office party, business trip, airplane flights, her meeting with the goddaughter and the whole mountain trip
From episode 13 to episode 21 it's all fillers that were not in the books BTW, poor ZX's colleague, he had to suffer a brain injury for one ep. just so he wouldn't be able to tell ZX that XG is not going out with LYS yetđ
I don't get why ZX has 3 girls chasing after him, while LYS has no one (he's the one chasing NXG). They even added the colleague for ZX, which was not in the book
I noticed that tooâboth men had insecurity over having a partner more capable than or shines brighter than themselves.
In the 2nd book extra, his assistant asks him if many girls chased after him in college and he says: he doesn't know, but he had a classmate he liked (so that one girl is definitely FL). At the beginning, he rejected FL because of the status difference, so he didn't clarify abt YR. But why did he not clarify after he decided to be with FL, I don't understand. I hope there are more scenes which explain his thought process, bcz the books were from FL's perspective, except for the extras, which didn't clarify much.
On episode 6 and homegirl actually left her post and went running like a sprinter in a race just to catch a glimpse…
no, in the book it was written that she ran away from him he was supposed to visit their site and she ran away to avoid him but he left anyway, so they wouldn't have met
It has not been explicitly said what happened to him. MLâs mom mentioned in Ep. 18 that he was sent overseas…
ML's mother is part of the Sheng family. Because she was a woman, she wasn't given a fair chance to get involved in the business. Just like her, her husband was very competent. But because he was an outsider, they didn't want to share their family business with him and he was sent abroad to work on some branch thing. It was put nicely, but in fact it was like a banishment. There, he died in like a revolution or sth. Since then, his mother moved abroad and never came back. She recently remarried there. ML spends every new years' with his mom abroad.
Because her deceased husbands' parents were old and they already lost a son, she left FL with his paternal grandparents in the countryside in China (FL was also raised by her grandparents!).
Later, he went to live with his maternal* family to attend school. He still wasn't aware of the whole story and he wanted to go into business to help his grandpa and continue his father's legacy. But someone (from the family obviously) told him on purpose the whole story. At that point, he decided to go into medicine (since he was actually more interested in this anyway) and kept a low contact with his paternal family.

but the parts from the novel are indeed 99% accurate

moreover, he doesn't love his ex wife that much, you'll see
he was supposed to visit their site and she ran away to avoid him
