Honestly, so many ppl nowadays are little F-ed up in their heads and have relationships. The importance lies within the people, if they wanna work on their relationship and have it healthy, or do not work on it and have toxic relationship. For now I do see P trying to make it work - not relationship yet, but he is definitely trying to open V's eyes to the traumatic things that are happening to him and opening someone's eyes is the very first step.
