I am very open for recommendations, than! I love director Guo Jing Ming if that helps. I have been also watching Asian dramas overall for that long I think haha. If you ask me what bothers me about majority of Cdramas I have seen phuuuu....with fantasy ones - I can't keep up with the number of characters and their roles, plot too political for me to keep up, story always starts with a war between clans or something similiar, f course, terrible CGI and insane amount of blood coughing a- as a nurse, I am very concerned. With modern dramas, often the lenght? Back than 40 episodes were norm and the plots were way too draggy. I am not into office type dramas (does not matter which country), and as I age, I prefer more serious romances. I hate love geometry, so if there is love triangle, it is immediate turn off for me. I know, I sound extremely picky and I guess....I am? Each year my watchlist is smaller, because of how picky I am....
It's interesting that for last season I was heavily rooting for black spoons, but with this season I am rooting for white spoons. While we have some amazing black spoons, sometimes their actions baffles me. I like the teamwork white spoons have and their expertize is clearly showing with the way they know how to combine ingredients. It's pure magic, really.

They do end up together, but since this TV series is kinda heavily based on real king and his life, they do show the tragic ending that happens later in their life. She dies, along with their kids and he later dies, but the final scene is them meeting in heaven.
Just like always with Chinese costume TV series, I skipped the political parts and minimized them into the important parts so I could follow the plot - that was the only downside for me, but this happens all the time, so nothing new for me.
BUT I cannot praise enough the storytelling of FL, ML and even second leads. The way the story handled difficult topics, without dragging the plot was amazing. Also, FINALLY a story with proper enemies-to-lovers trope where they literally HURT each other LOL.
The ending, wrapped, but still somewhat rushed. Would be nice to see the actual scenes, instead of learning the story of other characters through oral storytelling, only.

You assume that people do not know the fact that this drama features blasphemy romance - I assure you, that most of us do and still enjoy it. If you read books you would know that this type of romance even has it's own subgenre called "dark romance" which features usually toxic relationships or blasphemy relationships, like in this case. While you may not like it, do not force your ideology onto others who do enjoy this type of thing. It is not that hard to understand.

I am a scientist as well and u know what we say in our circle? Never say never, cause you simply never know what will future bring. If you think science has answers to everything, than you are veeeery wrong. The "yet" makes sense and I shall not remove it.
