I want to know that too. Do you know the name of the real time king??
Queen and Consort are two different positions. The one that is shown in the drama is Consort Suk-Yong aka concubine. She is not his queen. He had maaaaaaany concubines.
Is he really based on yeonsangun? I guess they changed his name to avoid accusations of historical revisionism.…
Yes, he really is based on him, and that's why I simply scoff at the thing they have done. If they intended to keep the historical background the same, they should have just kept his name and dealt with the public opinion. I am honestly shocked that people are blatantly ignoring the fact that the history hasn't been changed.
I will keep watching to see how they plan to ''change'' him into a better person, but in first episode we already saw how cruel he is, not even denying that he is abducting women and creating a harem.
Also, his ''mommy'' issues are the root of his cruelty. I am curious if the drama will show the reality of his mother - how cruel she was, just like her pretty son.
I dont think GMM are good at dark elements. I also think most thai bls dont do enough re giving background and…
Yes, I am watchinf Khemjira and Shine and Khemjira has the mood I expected from this show and Shine has the cinematography I expected from this show. Shine has like 8 episodes but is serving us amazing background and the mundane filler shots which add to the realism.
I gave it a try, even though I didn't like the trailer. The beginning shocked me, as it had some pretty serious tone and dark elements. It made me think that GMMTV finally created proper serious series, but then the mood shifted. I think I would have prefered if the tempo slowed down. I craved more background and more ''filler'' shots (whatever you wanna call it) before we got to the ''main stage'' which was reviving Ramil. Basically, it lacks the depth I crave for. The sudden comedic elements were unnecesary and it made Ramil look like a kid and not like centuries old vampire AND a killer. Also, did Ramil have a blackout or did he truly forget his shared dreams with Punn? Same goes with Punn. In one shot he clearly remembers Ramil, but for the rest of the episode he acted as if Ramil was a stranger.
From the preview, I really do not appreciate how Ciar's minions walk in daylight dressed in corny capes. This isn't the world of Harry Potter, and even there, they only had capes at Hogwarts.
now i’m a little afraid that apo and mile won’t want to do more series bc, you know, nothing will ever top…
Don't be so low and judge series by trends - that's what Gmmtv does and it never ended up well for them. It is VERY popular with Thai people, like....incredibly popular. Just look at Thai lakorns. Majority aren't trending on X, but still, they get so popular that generations remember them and that's exactly where Shine stands.
Since we got new pictures for EP4 from BOC my theory is that the ending monologue from Naran is actually his new column entry for newspaper and that's what he is reading in the picture preview for EP4.
Why I don't think Naran's love is fast-burn one, but rather slow-burn!
I think a lot of us forgot the scene, where Naran was looking at the printed photos he made and the way he stared at Krailert. We can assume, that Naran was intentionally taking pictures of Krailert, because he already fancied him, or at least, liked how handsome Krailert is. Also, the column in newspapers in not new, but rather we, as viewers, see the story from somehow middle, where Krailung and Sarasawadee are already ''beefing'' against each other, meaning that the exchange has been happening for a while. In the process of writing, the two fell in love. I think we are maybe talking about some years, instead of months. I think once Naran learnt that Krailung is Krailert, it made the whole process of intimacy faster. Why? Because my theory is, that he indeed found Krailert handsome before. Also, notice, how the books and even the words Krailert uses are both LOVE. It isn't even like, but directly Krailert used the word love, and love isn't created fast.
This is purely only my observation, and could be different LOL.
I can't the only one that loves the realistic kiss scenes, right? Why can't other shows also include the actual moans? They usually mute it with soundtrack, which takes away from the viewer immersion and artistic value. Also, the way the hands move? The desperation in the movement? Yes, please. We need more neck grabbing.
That's why I couldn't enjoy Krailert's and Naran's encounter because either or both of them could die as a result.…
Honestly, even if they both die, it is a tragedy that is painfully beautiful to witness. You can't help it, you just fall for it. Just like Shakespeare's works. Tragedies, but we can't help but love them for centuries.

Either own it, or adjust the story for the new king.
