I think a lot of people that watch GMMTV stuff and even other productions are used to seeing 90% of the time the main CP on the screen, but actually, it takes away from the depth and realism of the story. If you want to bring life to a story, you have to include the mundane aspects of life and even side characters, as well. After all, people are social creatures and are not alone all the time. Plus if you want to tell a story from multiple angles, other people are needed, as well. BOC productions always put importance on telling holistic stories, not just main CP centered stories, which, I personally, like.

It depends on the episode lenght and the power of scriptwriter. Remember, movies are usually 2 hours only, but we got some amazingly deep stories from just 2 hours :)

I'll start by saying that I wont be disclosing where I come from as it is not needed. I do not need to be Korean to teach Korean history, after all. I feel that you see things only in black and white and when in history and especially cruel one, that is not how it goes. Yes and no. You could be a Nazi and not participate in any massacres. Just like you can be a commie but not participate in the shit they do. I am happy that you share the things that have been done, but personally, I do not like when you lecture me - someone who is neighbouring Germany and shared the history and knows deeply about the events that happened not on the surface level.

On the other note, I am aware of Nazi romances, but there is a big difference between a Nazi romance and Hitler romance. You need to dig deeper to truly know the Nazi history, because majority back then were considered to be under ''Nazi'' party and didn't commit any crime. It got so bad that at the end of war, only the high-ranking people that actually contributed to the massacres were executed, but majority were left alone and still held their positions at work for example. It's an unspoken German history that not many know, actually. It's harder to find someone that wasn't in the party, then those that were.

Back, to your comment. I truly think that giving the, ''who cares'' comment you showed insensitivity to the real-life issues that had happened. I think we shouldn't look away from the fact that the actual source material had the tyrant's name in it, thus it was normal for people like the commentor or myself who were here from the beginning to think that this truly wasn't a good idea.

Your comment simply shows how you have 0 respect and care for the actual history. If S. Koreans stayed with the original and kept the tyrant's name, it would cause an uproar, because such name will never ever be forgotten. Maybe you would understand it more, if I compared it to European tyrant, like Hitler? Imagine a rom-com with a freaking Hitler as the main protagonist. That's simply unheard of and disgusting, as well. We can compare Hitler and prince Yeonsan so yeah, it would make a big deal and contrary to your belief, people would care a lot about it.

When the news about this drama came out I was concerned, as well.
As someone who studies to become a future historian, I know more then what you have written and it is much worse, so to have a story centered around such man, it would be a pure catastrophy.

I guess S. Koreans also thought so and thus changed the main lead's character into a fictional king - Yi Heon, which I am very happy about. The true name - Yi Yung - should be forever buried and never spoken of positively, for sure.

the director admitted that in his original script the whole organization went down, so do not say that there was no other choice, when there was. he could have wrapped the story, but he picked big sum of money from NF instead.

When you're on a 24h shift you find this form of entertainment very funny, trust me :D I had 0 hopes of making them actually understand their mistakes, but truly, it was great killer of time and after that I slept like a baby.
