Actually he did try to break the barrier when WZ and Changming were fighting but it was a strong barrier . He thinks and thats when he use the Chanxi palace weapon since that is the only way to break the barrier. (I hate him also that time because he didn't think and act fast) . I think him going to the Demon City is the right choice because all the question on his mind he got an answered but sadly in return he lost the trust of WZ . A broken trust is hard to fixed.

Ep 29 is an eye opener, even if it hurts watching it, it is the best ep so far. And I like what WZ said to them. " Mortals like you are blinded by obsession. You think all demons are evil."
She indeed is right they generalized that all demons are evil, where in fact not all. Both humans and demons can be evil and can be good. The biggest example is Chang ming and WZS . Changming because of jealousy and wanted to excel he practices evil magic. WZS because he wants to have WZ he accepts being evil just to get her.

Back to the twist, with 9 eps left and still alot of things needed to be done.

•WZS obsession with WZ and him using dark magic and colluding with the remnant soul •Infant core in WZ body ( how are they going to solve this, if they don't destroy the infant core, the remnant soul will still exist and what happened 18 yrs ago could happen again, but the question is how? If they remove it from WZ body she could die, maybe that is the reason why she didn't die 18 yrs ago.
• elder rat he is with the infant, he is trying to bring him back to life. Now that he knows where the infant core is there is going to be alot of trouble coming.

Im pretty sure that evil who cause the fire 18 years ago will cause havoc again and Chang an will suffer again . Chanxi palace lead by MZY and Demon City lead by WZ they will fight hand in hand the evil that cause chaos in both parallel world. Hopefully the end will be satisfying and not rushed.

1 out of 4 evil is dead 3 more to go.

If it happens she is going to be the stupidest demon lord i know. Even the snake lord already start to suspect and even confront WZS about WZ.
