One minute later, the enemy somehow creates a perfect ring of fire around a pile of bodies… on snow-covered ground. What? I don't have a good feeling about this drama. I will try to finish this episode.

I’m only two minutes in and the story already doesn’t make sense. They’re in the middle of a fight—who would stop to stack bodies into a pile, just so the male lead ends up on top of it? Does that make sense to anyone else? Maybe I need to keep watching for an explanation.

Jelly fish thing was a dumb idea. A simple round glowing orb would have made more sense. Whoever was in charge of creativity, makeup, color grading, directing, voice recording need to do better next time. Horrible drama. Let me watch episode 3 to see of it gets better-that's what people on here are saying. So many people on here like this drama, this doesn't make sense. In general, do people have bad taste?

So much potential, it's just disappointing that it didn't turn out good. It reminds me of The Untamed, Word of Honor, and The Legend of Condor Heroes - but can't measure up to any of them. Just being honest. How did it get a rating of 8.1? It's not even done airing.

I am giving you my opinion. Why do you think the rating is tanking? People are confused because of bad director and/or acting. It's not a bad drama, just not on tier with the best this year. This is good feedback for the director so he can improve. Everyone can improve. China drama really needs improvement.

I was confused too. The dethroned emperor didn't seem like a bad person. But he killed the guy. I think it's bad acting by actors and directing by the director. The director was not able to bring out the darkness and emotion in the characters so it leaves lots of people confused.

Thanks for the explanation, still very weak script and execution. The series is still entertaining, but I wouldn't rank it high. In 2025, only drama memorable is Legend of Zhang Hai. Very disappointing year for Chinese drama. This year, Korean did a very good revenge series called Karma.

The uncle story doesn't make sense. Maybe they didn't do a good job of explaining or depicting it. The uncle is protrayed as a good assassin but 2 kids got away. He stabbed his nephew but didn't stay to make sure its finished. There was a scene where he was holding a knife. Was it supposed to be a gift for his nephew? The screenwriting is not very good. Sword Snow Stride has one of the best screenwriting. I can't wait for season 2.

Is it possible Pei Fei is the ancestor? Some of his comments are hinting at it.

Keep it coming. I need more seasons.

I am on episode 4. It's so slow. Too much talking about nothing. Too many unnecessary information. Why can't every episode be like the first one? What is wrong with Chinese dramas?!?!

On episode 1, very good. Who is the director?

It's hard to watch. The causal style of speaking is awkward, the fake looking flowers is so bad, the void in every shot leaves me feeling empty, I can go on and on. It will take me to the end of the year to finish this drama because it's so boring. Everything looks plastic and there is a lack of color. Makes me depressed watching it.

The first few episodes were interesting. There rest are fillers. What a waste.

Kinda disappointed in this series. I heard it cost a lot to produce, but it looks and feel cheap. I am hooked on the animation though.

Why is the rating so low? And there are so many negative comments. The comments are questionable too. Is there a group with an agenda that I don't know about? I like this drama and look forward to it everyday.

Same for me. It's kinda boring and starting to not make sense toward the end. Additionally, I wish the female lead wears less makeup. I personally think she looks too modern, pretty, same, and out of place in costume drama. Hope I can give it a 7.5 at the end.

That's great. Personally I will not invest time in a show to be heart broken or left feeling empty at the end.
