I liked this one. Didn't get to watch the original version so I can't compare, but I did watch the Korean one and didn't like it as much as this one. I liked how they focused on prejudice related to age, related to background, related to appearance... I liked the message the drama conveys and I liked the sweetness btw the leads. My favourite part was Momo dressed as a dog. It cracked me up when he bouced his tail! XD
I really liked this movie. It's not that type that will give you goosebumps or give you that loving feeling. It's a slow paced but meaningful movie. More directed to 'grown-ups', I'd say.
Kudou and Hayama are student and teacher who get closer and manage to change each other's life apparently unaware of it. Although Kudou openly likes Hayama, she's not sure about how he feels for her. He slowly opens himself to her and then it's possible to understand his feelings.
Reading that, one would think it's just that 'student and sensei in a forbidden love'. I wouldn't call it that. This movie felt more complex than that to me. It shows different ways of loving someone and what matters the most to each (main) character; the reasons to stay or not with someone. The female lead may sound/seem annoying sometimes, but her behaviour is quite understandable. She's not simply 'a teen in love'; although she's young, she knows what she wants.
I wouldn't say it's a light movie, but it's far from being heavy as well. Its plot could represent a reality, which is why I think those 140 minutes of a slow-paced movie didn't feel draggy to me. Acting was good in general as well. And the ending... I liked it. It may not be what you expect it to be, but I think it was a 'proper real ending'.
If you took your time to read so far and you didn't get 'discouraged' by what you read, dedicate 140 minutes of your life to watch this movie. If you intend to watch this movie just bc of this or that actor/actress, then you'll probably get disappointed.
I don't understand why the teacher still loves his wife although she killed his mother?! -__- bad story and stupid…
I thought his wife set fire in a small building in the garden, but she had told Hayama she wanted to set fire in the main house, where his mother was. So she wouldn't have killed his mother, but she confessed to him she wanted to do so.
Well, I watched the first episode and I really liked it. I have the feeling that it's not gonna be a happy ending, though (haven't read the manga yet). I hope I'm wrong.
I'm DYING to watch it! Miyavi as Byakuya? That incredibly handsome singer playing my favourite character in Bleach? I'm already all 'wah wah'! XD And they couldn't have chosen better actors than Yoshizawa Ryo as Uryu and Saotome Taichi as Renji. The few scenes were enough for me to notice they look exactly how they should.
I love mangas and animes, but their adaptations are usually not as good to me. Kuroshitsuji live action (Black Butler) was the hell of a disappointment to me. Well, I usually end up disappointed with adaptations of mangas I REALLY liked, perhaps bc my expectations are too high. Idk, some actors just don't seem to convey the same feelings you get when reading the manga, mostly when it's supposed to be comic (like in The Disastrous life of Saiki K, which I watched mostly because of Kento) Anyways, I'll be giving at least a try to almost all of them. I really liked your post! There were mangas I hadn't even heard about so far. Thank you for it! Bc of it I created my first list on MDL. ^^
Neko-chan, not sure if you are aware of this (you probably are, lol), but Viki got the license for the drama so…
Well, I came here to check the synopsis, then read the comments, watched the trailer... but Idk... it just didn't catch my attention that much. Since I read many comments asking about somewhere to watch it, I thought I could be of some help. Ended up being not that much, tho. XD But oh, well, at least I tried. XD I guess Brazil is not very 'blessed' when it comes to access to Asian stuff. Ppl who aren't good in English have even more trouble, since most dramas/movies are not subbed in PT.

I actually had no idea, mostly bc I don't intend on watching this drama. XD It's just that I've been watching another drama on that site, saw ppl here were asking about a site where to watch this drama, I took a look, saw there were eps there, so I was like 'ppl can watch it here'. lol Tbh, I never check infos like who licensed what drama, since I've had some hard times trying to watch dramas on Viki and faced a msg like 'this content is not available to your country'. What can I do in such situations but looking for another sources? ^w^
I indeed saw there were only some eps subtitled... but since they usually upload the eps and gradually translate them, I thought those raws were too recent and about to be translated. Since I'm not watching this drama, Idk about its releasing. Sorry if it wasn't of much help. =/
They even managed to make the male lead resemble the one in the manga, but the female lead... completely plain! -_-'

On Viki, many times I face 'this drama is not available in your country'. =/
