In the remaining six episodes, the upper hand is expected to shift completely from the kidnapper to the male lead. The secrets surrounding him will likely be revealed gradually as well.

Besides, what kind of doctor has enough influence to boss around police officers and politicians? You must be watching too many movies. ML isn’t a power-hungry person—he’s just a doctor who focuses entirely on his work.

Moreover, even in the tense situation of trying to escape in earlier ep, he acred as a doctor by administering first aid to the injured detective.
As a doctor, he is someone who saves lives rather than takes them.
His actions are not at all strange.
He is neither a trained police officer nor someone skilled in gunfights with kidnappers.
Furthermore, since he has already called the police, the wiser choice would be to quickly escape the scene with his wife.

I knew the ML lacked social skills, but I hadn't considered that he might have a mental health condition; I just thought he kept his distance from the FL because his marriage and his relationship with her family were strained. After all, their philosophies on patient care were vastly different, and her family always treated him poorly. All her family members are his bosses. 🥲
It seems like he didn't love his wife quite as much as she loved him, and home probably didn't feel like a comfortable place for him, either.

On the night the female lead was kidnapped, when the kidnapper entered her room, she reacted with extreme irritation and shouted, "This isn't your room. Get out!" It’s possible there was a huge argument between the two that hasn't been shown yet.
The male lead might have actually said something like that himself, so he likely pretended otherwise to cover it up. Of course, he probably didn't mean it.
Also, since the author tends to enjoy plot twists rather than predictable writing, I doubt they would opt for an easy solution like AI deepfakes.

I am really enjoying this show. I like the unpredictable plot and the male lead's somewhat unusual personality.

Namkoong Min is not a commercial director. He made the film as a personal project and just cast an actress for the film. He was not in a position to wield power over the actress as a director as you falsely accuse.
In fact during the production, he did his work only. They were not in a personal relationship. After production was finished, he and his wife met through someone who knew both and started dating.

Namkoong Min character is calm outside but struggling inside. A very complicated but subtle character for early eps. That's what the character description is like. You need to wait to see his top notch acting up to later episodes. You will see the changes. His acting is another level. you can easily see that in My dearest, Stove league and other dramas he was in

It will be released internationally. You can watch it on Hulu in the US or Hulu in Disney+ or Disney+ in other countries. Canada already posted its releasing schedule. I saw a fan acc of Disneybrasil introducing this and said it will be released internationally. He usually said delays in brasil for other kdramas but didn't say so this time. So let's wait :)
