I also thought it was a great choice to explore the "pre" story- gave things a nice trajectory. And they toned down some of Jin's cray-cray and made room for Akin's growing feelings. This made things a less stalky while still keeping the flavor of the original. Well-done for sure.
bit silly the next plan is an acting one i’m here for singing and dancing.. also when will this end after plan…
I really enjoy the creativity of this show - like adding the tutting and sign and singing in a foreign language- though doing all 3 with 7 days practice was slightly insane even by K pop survival show standards:) Acting levels is a bit unfair as few idols are going to be able to stretch into acting- and that will come after success. Maybe tie it into story/song after some acting lessons ?
He seems nice and has great voice- don't know if in this kind of competition he is assertive enough. Has he led a group here or in last show? All these Be An Idol shows let the ambitious kids fight for parts- would make a lot more sense to have pros sort that out and skip the drama
I thought this was a great idea for a drama- but really- think you hit it on the head- why 3 couples in such short series? Why multiple antagonists? Learn from Semantic Error----- focus!!!! And no need for the K-Drama staple- I've know you since forever and always will!" Even though I will never do anything about it. Devote multiple unnecessary high school shots of adults in school uniforms awkwardly playing their teenage past selves.....

Becasuse of this series I watched Alpha Project- spoiler alert- you already know who won the competition to for Lynkn or however you spell it. Showcases Lego's next level dancing and his charisma/personality pops. Williams voice is also a standout. I got sucked into watching some idol competition series in the last year- and in this one- the trainees are actually given help and constructive criticism as well as (gasp) compliments- unlike the often brutal Kpop shows. Might be worth a watch for you.
I think the jury is out on William's acting- it was his first listed role of any kind and he is still (barely) a teenager. Mr Est is so bland here and in High School Frenemy- that I'm pretty sure he will just continue to skate by on his (admittedly) good looks and great bod. Gmmtv markets and profits off crazed fans going to fan meets and merch- so it was funny that they brazenly dropped this one into the chute. I also gave 6/10, so we're pretty close on overall feeling. Acting would have been a 6/10 also.
I watched it and was underwhelmed the entire time. I really like Lego, everyone else fine. The chemistry between…
I feel like Lego- as the only potentially actually gay character/androgynous person- was relegated to shipping others. The plot was as in most GMMTV series drawn in crayon and dragged out. Another issue was William as a newbie actor was earnest and sweet- but Est was the older and more experienced actor- he attacked his scenes with the energy of a koala- cute, slow and sleepy- needed much more from him. But one of the few GMMTV series I've finished in past several years. So ---- decent?
Completely in accord- I found the sister's deadpan the right addition to the mix and a star performance by Tar as Noey. He dove into the strange mixture of that character and made it unique. Comic acting is difficult- as his co star unfortunately showed with a tiresomely one note "I'm a nervous whiner" performance. Worth watching for the Watphlu family- as the mom was also pretty entertaining.
Lol. I could not agree more, my friend. I gave up on Triage because it really tested my patience. Did you see…
I enjoyed TMS1 and loathed TMS2. Taekwondo is more of the same. The director should never be allowed to write a series again! Taekwondo had a 12 year time skip---- that is never a good sign.
That damn Tonkla definitely stole the show- not that it was that difficult "great" acting of lead couple and Win notwithstanding. Sammon specialty: take interesting idea, then add uninteresting ideas from other genres- stir once, turn stove on and forget until quite burnt. (Footnote- see Triage)
I’m starting to think that someone needs to have a serious sit down with New Siwaj. Not sure if it’s because…
He churned out four series in 2024- including a 16 ep and 24 ep series- as long as his shows get views and sponsors and he delivers on time- he's not going anywhere. He's a long long way from his peak of Until We Meet Again- it had a few trouble spots- but was so far above what he's doing now.
I loved the title of your review- agree with the difficulty of playing a man-child well- the actor imho did a great job. I didn't love the series as much as you did- but I enjoyed it- and the cinematography and lead actor were a big part of that. Unfortunately, many commentors are off-put by him being tan (he's a farmer, duh) and not K Idol tall thin and pale. Hope he gets more roles- his ability to naturally chuckle and laugh I think even got a "real" response from his co lead a time or two. Was the Village Chief speaking Portugese? They handled it pretty seamlessly - and the actor was good- so it doesn't matter much.
My top 9 from the current 18 survivors1) Duan Xingxing2) Shao Zi heng3) Han Gyul4) Lee Jun hyuk5) Pentor6) Yang…
As long as people, companies and whomever buys votes- they don't care too much what happens to group after....that's what I'm getting. I mean "Bad Stickers"!!! The Squid Game dance endurance in ep 2, nasty and unhelpful "Guides"---- but there is a ton of talent amongst the top 30
and your list is really good- unfortunately don't think Cong B and Ling Qi will make it:(
