I enjoy your review, far more than those who decided to give the series a 9.5 or 10 after 1 episode. How is that helpful at all? I don't believe it is, especially when compared to a detailed review such as yours.
I believe the people who responded to you are simply immature children who don't understand that every piece of art doesn't have to be loved and adored by the whole audience, nor do you need to watch 100 episodes of a series to determine what you are worried about in the future or genuine problems (acting, set design, editing, etc)
Personally I don't like Earth as an Actor which is why I'm not very excited for this series, however, your review compared to others has made me interested in the series.
I can understand your perspective and you probably would have liked Oh Aew with Bas. For me I liked the overall…
Perhaps, I don't find it impossible for him to redeem himself, but I'll see if someone who shares my opinion of season 1 changes their mind once watching season 2. Hopefully it's really good!
Yes. The first episode or actually the first couple of episodes don't shine a good light on Teh but you have to…
I think I do understand Teh and that's the problem. I'm a self described narcissist, I also crave to be liked by my friends vehemently by doing things for them, hanging out with them, buying gifts etc.
I understand envy as well, I mean the "inferiority complex" is something I understand quite well.
Regardless, I think I was just hoping for something different in regards to how he treated Oh-aew. I feel like even series that have the "enemies to lovers" trope had less bullying.
Thanks for taking the time to talk about this in a pretty constructive manner. While I probably won't continue to watch the show due to my concerns. I do have a better understanding of where Teh may have been coming from and his motivations even though I disagree with them and the actions they cause him to commit.

Would you not agree that a rivalry should be mutual? Teh essentially pushed that role onto Oh-Taew. I wouldn't be as invested if I didn't really want to enjoy the series. Especially due to the immense praise it constantly gets. I just can't get over Teh, even his face when staring at Oh-Taew frustrated me as he was just standing there while the other wanted to be alone.
I know I said I understood his reasoning for distancing himself from Oh-Taew but the original argument is still quite weak. He got mad because his friend enjoyed the same activity as him and was good at it. I get that he may have been envious but still if he was a real friend then he would have supported his friend. At least after a couple of years of figuring out it was a dumb argument.
They are teenagers not brain dead meat bags. Like I said, I wish I could like it. I think the actors are great in their role. I just dislike certain characters actions, attitude, and overall demeanor.
Because this series has so many wonderful reviews and comments I feel it my duty to represent the other side.
I did not like the first episode one bit. Very few will feel the same as I do but I've seen tons of BL series and have read many BL novels. Teh falls into the small small percent of main characters I just can't like.
Having to fast forward during the first episode due to frustration was when I knew I wouldn't be able to finish this series. I gave it my best shot too, I really wanted to enjoy this series due to all of the hard work put in.
However, I just don't like Teh's attitude at the end of the day. I felt like Oh-aew should be with someone who doesn't bully him because they don't know their own feelings.
Like I said this opinion is in the minority, but don't feel bad if you don't love this series like everyone else.
I have to agree with you on this. I could barely get through the first episode with how Teh was treating Oh-aew and Bas was just there for him being amazing. Also enjoyed their chemistry more.
I agree other than the amazing acting and the eye candy, the only thing this show offered was disappointment. I wash shocked when I started the 4th episode and they start talking about Mark giving Vee another chance?!
Like I'm not entirely against Vee although I loved that he got punched and slapped. I believe it should take a bit more than "I love you" and "you've changed". I also wasn't a fan of how he made Mark wait for a year just to have him watch Vee kiss his ex.
I was somewhat enjoying the mini series but once Mark stopped listening to James then it went downhill.
Not sure if I’m the only one but didn’t enjoy the ending. I typically avoid bad/open endings and this is one I wish I had know before starting.
That said if was a wonderful series, however, I take a lot of points away due to the unfortunate ending. If a season 2 is produced and released that ends on a happier note then my complaints would no longer be valid. I hope they fix a lot of story/plot for season 2.
So that you know you aren't alone I feel the same way. I feel as though this series has been overhyped and have…
I believe censorship of the original media is something the audience shouldn't be okay with. Especially when the cause of that censors is homophobia and discrimination.
I've also been a fan of BL for years. One of my favorite BL novels is a Chinese novel which is amazing.
However, very few adaptions managed to pull off what their novel could. I agree that you don't need kissed and touches to be a good BL.
I'm quite picky when it comes to BL's so it's not a surprise but I wish I could've enjoyed this series more.
Am I the only one who finds it boring? I don't understand why this series has so much hype
So that you know you aren't alone I feel the same way.
I feel as though this series has been overhyped and have never been a fan of any of the Chinese BL's due to their Censorship and move from BL -> Bromance.
I liked the Tonhon Chonlatee parody of this series more than the actual series. That should give insight on how some people see this series.
Other than the terrible reporter I'm really enjoying the story so far. My only hope for the series is that we get a happy ending. Usually I wait till series are over but this one caught my attention so I'm risking me heart lol.

Some series are more bold but in general if it's made it China then it'll probably not be as good due to the State Censorship.

I won't be watching it because of that but am glad I'm not the only one who was curious.
