Peiyi last words before the emperor “ I investigate cases and hold trials by law only to find that the laws are nothing but tools of the royal clan. The laws punish the multitude, but not the royal” just sum up the whole system of government in this drama. The ruined system did got many innocent to suffer, especially women. I really like the script writing here. ❤️ Edited: Not just the system, but the incompetent emperor. I thought the emperor couldn’t punish the right chancellor due to lack of evidence, but when he had he just couldn’t punish right enough for such a huge mistake and still needed another evidence to k*ll him. I thought he gave such a light punishment coz it might relate to Consort Shu, but it not. It was just that the emperor was weak.
Just realized that this drama was directed by my favorite director, Yin Tao. No wonder that the slow burn, the subtle emotions by the casts, political plot and fighting scenes were so good 🫶🏻 Shout out to screenwriters too! The script here was so good which I enjoy replaying some particular scenes just to read subtitle (dialogue) again and again 🤭
FL Li Peiyi’s father, Prince Duan, was the older brother of the former Emperor. At the time of the massacre,…
Thank you so much! Now I got it. I already watched ep 21 and 22 and still confused and got the plot wrong. But your comment answers it all. I have to watch the rest eps with more attention. Last night I sacrificed my sleep to finish ep 22 that why I didn’t get it right 🤣
The guy in black suit with a horse watching FL having a chat with ML’s father in ep 22, I think I saw him once but forget his name and when. Did he do appear once or I remember it wrong? Appreciate any reply or spoiler below! Thanks!
After watching “The double” few years ago, nothing meets my taste much until this one. I like many things about this drama and what I like the most are the way FL always gave credit to ML when he could read some particular situation while he always understands her moves, her emotions, her struggles and always take care of her safety. They understand each other’s and take care each other’s more than a married couple. I like their interactions so much. One more, I like fighting scenes too. They were almost flawless and captivating scenes. Hope they don’t disappoint me in rest eps!
He never wanted to, but he couldn't deny Imperial decree! So he had to continue. But later, like by ep 9, he had…
That makes sense. But I think he might liked her since their childhood and his father might unintentionally relate to the tragic night too. Thank for your reply!
I’m at ep 9 and got a question. At first, ML seemed to avoid helping FL solving cases, but why he suddenly decided to continue joining her? Will they tell us in next few ep? Or I missed something in the previous eps? Appreciate any answers, thanks!
Just watched his two dramas by chance on fb and YouTube. His look and acting was impressive so does his voice. More interestingly, I think his voice sounds the same as Ke Chun’s. Any one else notice too? 😅
Your perception is correct; there's a general dehydration of the plot, of the core of each character, the plot…
Thank you so much! Both leads are my favorite that why I could make it to ep 12, if not I think I would not even pass ep 4 or 5. It’s sad as I have waited the drama since booting ceremony. 🥺
I’m at 3 minutes of ep 12. I just can’t accept how fl reacted to problems anymore. It appeared that fl was too weak character. Does any character development of fl? Plot seems bland too, no intense interaction between main leads and antagonist characters. Does it improve at next episodes? It stated off fine, but now I think plot are getting worse. Appreciate some replies! Thanks!
