A movie about seven Ronin who decides to help poor villagers, who are not even nice ,act vulnerable n their character is morally grey. The first question occurs here is Why do they accept to help them so easily when they know they aren't going to achieve anything? No good explanation other than "they don't have food" n have their own reasons or doing good deed. These samurai looked like pushover to me few times who decides to help them with good heart, maybe people were just nice in those days .This scene of finding samurai took more than an hour so it should have been properly explored n should have been able to answer the reason which would have made story interesting.
The last dialogue really hit me "the victory belongs to these farmers not us"
There was absolutely no action in this, the battle scenes were gorilla war (ambush , sabotage etc)as bandits have upper hand n random killing. The battle scenes n strategies should have been properly executed n shown.I can't complain bcz it's a very old movie to be this technical n proper that's another reason why this dint need this much time length.
The plot is very good but writing n execution r so messy with few sub plots which touched social n moral issues, in a realistic manner i must add bcz i dint feel empathy for any character.I would have liked it if the length was shorter. This wasn't worth my 3 and a half hour.
