I’m a true romance lover — it’s always been my favorite genre. I didn’t list it separately among my favorites genres, though,simply because all the dramas I referenced already have romantic elements woven into them.

~Enemies to Lovers

I’ve grown to dislike how casually this trope is thrown around in stories these days. Sometimes, two characters simply don’t get along.I’ve seen so many dramas force this dynamic, and it ends up feeling shallow and unearned. The trope itself can be brilliant when done well—when there’s real tension, genuine conflict, and emotional depth behind their hostility.  

~Second Chance
I absolutely adore this trope, even if I’m not sure If i could do it in real life. There’s something so beautiful about two people finding their way back to each other, ready to face what tore them apart the first time. I love watching them fixing old misunder standings, learning to communicate honestly and openly. It’s a nice reminder that growth, forgiveness, and love can coexist.

~Friends to Lovers

Maybe it’s just my experience, but I’ve noticed that many people around my age often feel the need to present a more idealized version of themselves in their partners. As a result, people often end up being their most authentic selves only around their close friends.That’s why I love stories where love grows from friendship, where people are honest.

~Forbidden  Love
This trope draws me in because of its emotional intensity and the drama it brings. There’s something deeply compelling about love that blossoms against all odds and  can rise above class, status, and what 'should' be is both powerful and romantic. The tension,  the longing,it all creates a  dramatic space where love feels both impossible and inevitable. 

~Fake Relationship
Like the thrill of forbidden love, I’ve always been drawn to this trope—there’s something incredibly intense about watching two people pretend to care, only to end up feeling far more than they ever expected. I love the emotional chaos that unfolds when characters start falling for each other but dismiss those feelings, brushing them off as simple kindess.How blind people can be to their own hearts.

~Marriage First, Love Later

Throughout history and within many families, we’ve become familiar with the concept of arranged marriages. This tradition, often portrayed in historical accounts and cultural stories, has brought many couples together—some of whom grew to know and genuinely love each other over time. It’s a touching and timeless theme, often portrayed beautifully in dramas. 

~Love at First Sight

I don’t think I’d ever watched a drama that truly captured the love-at-first-sight trope, until Coroner’s Diary. It portrayed that moment perfectly: when you glance at someone and just know  “It’s them.” But it also made me wonder, what is it that truly draws you to someone in that instant? I hope to see more stories that explore this kind of immediate, magnetic connection.

~Slow Burn

Like I mentioned when talking about the friends-to-lovers trope, many people my age often present an idealized version of themselves and jump into relationships quickly. The slow burn trope, on the other hand, beautifully captures the essence of taking time — showing how deep emotional bonds are built gradually. It’s a striking contrast to  LAFS.

I have nothing against the K-dramas I used as references — on the contrary, Boyhood is one of my favorite dramas, and I also enjoyed Nevertheless. My issue lies more with violence in general, which I deeply dislike. Genres or tags that include violent content tend to make me uncomfortable.Still, i sometimes push myself to watch them from time to time, since they often reflect reality and are part of the world we live in.

Actually, I don't really have a specific system for rating. Sometimes my ratings are very subjective and sometimes a bit biased—like when I get really hooked on a drama, even if it has some flaws. Other times, I don’t rate at all because I feel I need more time to reflect and gather my thoughts for a final rating. So, I wouldn’t consider myself the most reliable person when it comes to ratings.

After watching over 200 shows, I finally came across a character who feels uncannily similar to me—Qiao Qing Yu. Her personality, life experiences,and the dynamics of her relationship with her parents so closely reflected my own.It was more than relatable; it was almost haunting and sometimes it was as though aspects of my own life had been portrayed on screen.

As the saying goes, "the eyes are the window to the soul," and that’s one of the reasons I love great 'eye' acting. I’m always fascinated by how actors can convey such deep emotions — emotions that aren’t even their own.  I’ve watched the majority of the actors I mentioned pretty recently, and I’m blown away by how talented they are. Honestly, there are so many more I could add — the list goes on forever.
