Agree with you ! At first I thought it will be like Cornors Diary With more female centric theme . Though the cases are more dark here than CD but I liked it ! But in CD Fl also lost her family ; She badly wanted to punish the mastermind but through law ! In that drama Fl mentioned many times no matter what if for revenge you take law in your own hands you are not different. Actually It is expected from an Investigation based drama . Though I understand Li Peyi's Situation & fully agree She should kill that minister but there is no need to sacrifice her life , her carrier for that awful Creature. Also If she wanted to kill that minister badly she could came up with better plan & kill him secretly . But If She kill him there is no way her parents names are going to be cleared officially. People are saying Ml is spineless , not strong , soft well I respect their personal opinins / thinking but for me it makes sense . Though I will say Romance is laking , In CD the lead had better understanding & same goal ( Justice ) . Here Their Values contradicts each other . It will be better if there is no romance just partnership.

At this point Fl is full of Vengeance ( Understandable ) but If she kill that minister infront of everyone there is no chance she will survive. @Kaihua I understand that I am sure over time the situation will be more normal in Rong Family . But most of the rong family members called LJL selfish , cunning & criticized him. I have doubt if he marry into Rong family how much respect he will get . Secondly , LJL wanted to leave that toxic house & wanted to marry RSB because he loved her & he told it many times . But in the last makers present it in a way that it feels LJL sacrificing more . Was the horse chsasing scene & again Pursuing RSB scene really necessary ; they can talk openly about it . I see it as a female centric drama I rated it 7/10 . I liked the Fl's Scheming, her strong & cold nature . But Romance is weak point for Me . While RSB loved LJL most of the time she valued her own interest & carrier . She fixed her family ( not fully but 80-90% ) also got her position which is good . But on the other hand LJL left her wealth , Status , toxic family ( Which is good ) & married into Rong Family . Yes now LJL can live with RSB & keep the local officialdom Uncorrupted but seriously It's a waste of his potential. Obviously It's his choice & he made it because he loved her deeply . While RSB didn't compromise in her carrier LJL definitely made big compromise with his carrier. They both can stay in capital after leaving Duke's house , RSB can manage her business from Capital as well as expand her business there & LJL can shine in Court brightly . It's ofc better than being local official. You are saying there is risk of fight off attempt if LJL stays in capital but RSB is also from a merchant family & she is going to be head of their family . In future due to business Rivalry's there can be fight off attempt too outside capital too . So there is risk in both ways . Also if RSB was convinced from first that the relationship will not work while giving false hope to LJL while using him . She loved LJL but she can't compromise with her carrier or Status nor she wanted to let go LJL . She also didn't want that LJL leave status , wealth for her so She left him without discussing it silently & left a horse for pursuing her . I will say again it is unnecessary they can simply talk with each other . LJL deeply loved her so no matter what He will follow RSB Obviously. Why this choice situation came or Why it's always Choose RSB or Satus , Wealth / Ambition . For RSB she gets both , She fulfilled her Ambition , got love. While Ml compromise with his Ambition ( leaving family is right not capital or he can try to take control of his family like RSB ) . Being Ambitious is not fault Fl is not wrong but in their relationship from my perspective It's heavily unbalanced from start to end . I Respect Your thoughts , It's completely my thoughts on the ending . It is a good drama but Ml & his characterization is biggest letdown. They made damsel distress of Ml in last 6 eps.

After Marrying into Rong Family I don't know how much he will shine in court. Rong Family's rule for consort is deeply unfair . Their family members always labeled LJL as a Cunning , Ambitious Person even RSB said that again & again . I really don't know how much respect he will get if he married into Rong Family . It will be better if they both leave their toxic Family & started their own family . Fl can continue her business & Ml can also pursue his carrier, ambition freely without any discrimination or Judgement . It will be much better . I didn't like how he still chased RSB till the end , I mean they can talk & made a decision. It feels like leaving a Toxic Family & Joining another toxic family . @Night It's like if LJL want to be with RSB he needs to leave wealth & status ( Well I personally think LJL's house was his prison & no matter what he will leave that house for sure ) . But RSB's house is also epitome of power & Ambition absolutely true & in the entire series she tries to prove that none of it is worth it . So Why same doesn't go for RSB . They both should leave their houses for love & better future ( Stay away from toxic family environment, power struggle ) . RSB gives LJL false hope in the entire series while Using him then saying she was sure that the elationship will not work ... Then leaving a horse to chase her again & calling it choice I didn't like that .They both should talk with each other . LJL loses all his spirations too

By giving false hope to LJL she tries to leave because she is convinced that their relationship will not work from the start ! Well then RSB should draw a clear line from first . She repeatedly dodged Ml's questions & slept with him twice ; giving false hope to LJL . I understand the Fl's concerns regarding their relationship but she can directly talk to LJL. You are saying she quietly gives him a way to pursue her by leaving a fast horse — Is it real ? I mean till now LJL already made it clear that no matter what he will choose RSB . They can talk about it . Why LJL need to chase her again to pursue her ? If this way it is going to end then definitely it is giving me a mixed feelings .

I still can't understand why Fl keeping the Ml in dark . If She told Ml about her plan Ml will definitely help her . It's unbelievable for me that RSB believed the steward than asking help from ml . RSB is relying on Ml's genuine feelings while using him atleast till now . There is no personal growth of their relationship atleast till now, It feel one sided from Ml .
