i am so sorry but i literally cannot stop laughing what the fuck am i watching
I'm so glad I'm not the only one bc I keep having laughing fits at v serious and intense emotions. I rememebr when Sky was 'drowning' and then Sun but the pool was low enough for them both to stand in... on top of that, Sky could just swim with his feet. It was hilarious, no matter how serious they tried to make it seem, and that honestly counts for the entire show.
I just saw a post on tumblr from someone discussing this topic and now I felt I had to take it here, bc... what the hell is Mork's personality? He does literally nothing in the show but like Pi...
Even from Bam, we have seen enough of her to give her some personality traits (impulsive, bold) that lead to her actions - but for Mork, it seems he has only one thing in mind and that is to get Pi to date him... It's like he's nothing besides that?
All of his actions revolve around that one goal, as does all of the little personality we see of him... As the post said, he is like a blank slate.
The acting was alright, but not good enough to save the mediocre dialogue. So many moments seem to be an attempt to make the story 'deep', with lines like "this isn't right." "Then why does it feel so good?" being thrown in everywhere, which just makes it feel like I landed on the tumblr blog I might've run when I was eleven.
The attempts at comedy make that feeling even more starring, and while they're better written than its attempts at emotion, that says more about those attempts than the quality of the comedy.
On top of that, the plot moves slowly and barely gives an insight into anything. This story could have had half the episodes, and still not change whatsoever. Perhaps it would improve because I would have to sit through less of this bullshit.
A second season might be worth a shot if they had a proper budget and production crew, alongside a more decent writer. If that's not the case, you won't catch me watching it. Some shipwrecks are fun because of how awful they are, this one's just boring.
Regardless, I've enjoyed this show lots, and I'm sad to see it ending. Seems like we'll have some sort of special episode though? So, that's good ^^
