Enjoyed this first episode, we got a great introduction of the characters. Lighthearted and some good laughs. The treadmill, honestly, I have seen people fall like that.
I think this is only the first episode...just kick back and enjoy it...
I have struggled to make it to episode an7 and my interest has slowly waned to dropping this drama.
Don't get me wrong, it started off well, but then it became so disjointed with everything that I'm left like what? When she falls into the water and he saves her, the wig just was too much. Then he gives her some of his life force that she has to give back to him in 100 days. Ok, follow so far.
He goes on land, and he is a merman which means he needs to eventually get back in the water. But in the meantime, the girl from his planet appears with some lame excuse how she found him after all his years on earth. Now the FL wants to get back the film company that she handed all of her shares over to fiancée. She goes to see her aunt who after several attempts takes her in.
The aunt tells her she needs to devote herself to her for a year no questions ask to help her get back the company. She writes a script which everyone likes. Our ML is who knows where. He doesn't leave with the girl from his planet he is supposed to marry. She hightailed it back home. So, how is it that she can go back and forth, and he can't? He didn't go home but learn how to act? Say what?
He appears in front of the FL after a year. They connect and now he has the starring role in her new drama. I just cut to the chase because there is just way too much to say here.
I'm disturbed by the wigs the ML is wearing. I can't stand them. Even after he got the cut, it still looks like a fake wig jacked up. Then the FL her wearing these jackets are too much. They are so oversized on her skinny frame that they look like a sack. She really needs a decent meal. The dubbing is horrible because where is the "well" sound coming from when they speak.
My biggest question: WHY HAVE WE NOT SEEN HIM IN THE WATER ANYMORE? He is a merman that needs water. I'm at episode 7 and he has NEVER gotten in the water. How long can he survive on land? The girl that trained him to be an actor doesn't know he is a merman because he hasn't been in the water or has hidden it from her for a year.
The SML is the only one that knows her real identity. The ex-fiancée sees her and doesn't know who she is, but the SML does? The scale on her face wasn't that distorted that he couldn't tell who she was.
Then the acting, oh, my. How can I say this nicely. It just bad. I don't know if it's the script or what. The FL is from the General's Lady which I loved her in with Caesar Wu. Then the SML I loved him in Fall in Love, so I really don't know what happened with this production. I don't feel the chemistry between the ML and the FL. It just seems off. Maybe if the SML was with the FL it might have been better.
Now, the doctor said she was going to be in a vegetative state for the rest of her life. The doctor also asks SHT as her husband, why didn't he tell them that she was pregnant. She lost the baby. SHT tells the doctor they are going to take her home to take care of her, the doctor was against, but he couldn't go against the families wishes.
Talk about twisted. The chick that says she was her best friend, man I would like to know how she treats her enemies. She literally put scalding hot water on her feet to prove to herself that she was not faking. Now, I know she wanted to jump up, but she was just cool and let it happen.
ZXEe is alert and can move around. But she has to be super careful. But that chick, seriously, she needs a beatdown. She called the ZC, lawyer to come over to have his way with the ZXE. Seriously??? He goes in and starts kissing on her, but she moved her hand so she could drop something, but SHT didn't hear. SHT just happens to go into ZXE's room and sees the ZC on top of his wife. He asks him how he got in. The besties say, "I did, she can't do anything anyway." Oh, SHT was mad beat him until he left the how. He told the bestie; she is still my wife. Say what?
She is still creeping around and takes pills mashes them up and puts them in SHT's mother cup. The mother leaves to go to the hospital because after watching this program she is thinking she has cancer. She just leaves ZXE there.
ZXE goes into her room changes her clothes and heads to the hospital where someone calls her name.
Can we just ask, how much time does she really have to be running to the hospital? Did she ever think that maybe the bestie or SHT might go back to the house? I can't believe that she left. She is going to get caught.
Again, there are only 20 episodes, but this is a wild one for sure.

@hafu_girl exactly, that was why I was confused. They show her being an empress and Ou Ya talking to Lan Su like she is dead, and he was the new Devil King. So, agreed. That part should haven't been there because I was like ok, now there was no drama and they lived happy.

@ Maria E so, that means that he didn't betray her, Mu Nan was alive, the emperor didn't die, the Rain God didn't die, the empress was alive, The Kitchen Goddess wasn't the emperor and Lan Su didn't die then. If we sent time back. Everyone lived and they never had a child until later. Correct? Everything was reset.
mother is just too young. I thought she is going to be someone who has crush on ML.
@Ashu Singh I have to agree with you. When I first saw her with him, I thought she was a love interest but when they said mother, I was like, hold on. She definitely is looking young to be his mother.

Anyway, I am out and on to the next drama that doesn't have me thinking what life I am on or if I am in a parallel universe.
But I am happy to say that I will FINALLY get to watch Snow Eagle Lord that is starting on 6/21!!!!! Yes! Xu Kai!
