She wanted to keep all of the money without paying an inheritance tax. If she would have paid the taxes none of this would have even happened. The money would have never been buried in the mountain and the grandparents would have never found it. BJY's father was a loan shark too, so all the money he got wasn't that clean either, just my opinion on that.
But they did find the money and they should have turned the money in. They didn't. And yes, that was their bad. They felt it was a "finders' keepers, losers' weepers." But they really should have turned it in and again, the family would have been cleared.
I'm not saying the family is not guilty. I believe ALL parties here have some blame that should go around. But for BJY to have the attitude she has is too over the top.

@chosen020 I loved both My Demon and Queen of Tears. With Smile Code, Li Yi, the ML, love him, and in this drama he did not disappoint. If you didn't see Angels Fall Sometime definitely one in which he really should get an award. He was just outstanding. Smile Code takes a while for you to get into but it, to me was worth the watch.
The ones that I am watching and would recommend Love Scout (ML and FL whew, good storyline with the ML being HER secretary) Motel California (FL is working my nerves. ML is too fine) The Blossoming Love (Vin Zhang that man is always fine. FL complements him well) The Queen Who Crowns (She is doing it in this drama) The Tale of Lady OK (Hidden gem here, so good) When the Stars Gossip (which it is not getting much love, but I like the storyline and excuse me Lee Min Ho - done)

Can BJY just remember this all started with her. The money she had was from her father who was a loan shark. To which, she wanted to be a TAX EVADER and not pay taxes on the money. She is just as guilty if not more so because she has had this money for years. Why didn't she do anything? Oh, because she didn't want to pay taxes being greedy.
The money gets buried and that is like what they say, "finders' keepers, losers' weeper. And the grandparents found it so, it was their money. Now, they should have, which they didn't. Taken the money and turned it in. Now, all of this is blow back from that decision.
