Fantastic episode! One more thing that like in this ep was the PPL @ 37:13, it was very subtle imo.
I went back to check, I don’t think it’s a PPL. I’ve googled it. Au reve in French means an invitation to dream or travel. It’s still in line with theme of this episode, which is about dream. But that’s only my theory.
I like your post. Search WWW and Be Melodramatic really do have some of the most beautiful female friendship. And I think Thirty Nine deserves a place also in this list. Their friendship lasts even beyond this life. If you have friends who stay by your side up until your last breath, supporting you in any way they can, and then still remember and pay respect to you after you die, well, what more could you ask for.
I really appreciate that all the characters here are wearing normal clothes like us ordinary people. Even the same shirt day in day out. Because so often the main leads have to wear expensive branded stuffs from the PPL, or change their coats for every scenes, even if they play as poor people. Here they even tone down Kim Ji Won’s beauty with simple make up so she doesn’t look flawless.
So far I’ve only seen 2 of writernim’ previous work: It’s Okay That’s Love and That Winter The Wind Blows. I’ve made a note to move her other dramas into the top of my watchlist: Live and My Dear Friends. Anything else you can recommend?
If anything, this drama actually gives warning about the risks of teenage pregnancy. But at the same time also gives hope for people who are in despair. That maybe something good will come out of all the things that gone wrong in your life and your plans.
I can understand why the teen couple decided to keep the baby. They both have parents issues, left by their mothers and being raised by fathers who struggle with their own problems, anger and bitterness. Who are always demanding them to be the perfect son/daughter. They never really know how does it feel to be loved unconditionally. That could be why they want to have the baby, so they can love her like they want to be loved.
It’s actually quite rare to have a teen father being so responsible like in this drama. So many boys just left the girls to suffer by themselves. So yes, Jung Hyun’s Dad had actually raised him right to be a decent and honest human being. The same goes for Young Jo’s Dad too. Young Jo grows up to be a strong and brave woman. Even though their parents being so harsh now, but they’ve done their best raising their kids despite their difficult circumstances.
The casts’ acting really takes my breath away. PD Nim does an amazing job. Glad that Choi Young Joon plays an important role here to showcase his skill after so many supporting roles. Also I’m really impressed by Bae Hyung Sung and Roh Yeong Soo’s (the teen couple) talents. I’ve seen Hyung Sung only in minor role in Hospital playlist before, but here he has a chance to shine.
