Tan Jianci’s voice is like comfort food. It’s very pleasant to hear him speak in that deep tone. His singing voice is buttery, velvety and very soothing, omg!!!. The number of times I’ve watched this drama and listened to these songs should be studied. If you’re looking for an extremely sweet romance and comforting drama, this is the one. This is it!!!

@MDL, you need to be stricter with your review policies. Ensure that people claiming to be reviewers have watched at least 50% of a drama before sharing their opinions. Ensure that said people review at least 2-3 dramas a week that way we know they are review professionals. This way you’ll prolly get rid of people trying to sabotage or manipulate the rating system. Some of said “reviewers” drop a drama after 4 episodes and come on here to give reviews which is very misleading to the common folk who come on here to read honest reviews.

I think they should also ensure that a real critic at least review X amount of dramas in a week and if you haven’t, you aren’t allowed to post whenever you feel like. That’s the only way regular folk like me can take reviews seriously coz we’d understand that you guys are actually working hard at giving us honest reviews. Otherwise they will continue to get compromised by naysayers coz it’s very easy to write a review on MDL. All you need is 300 words. 😭😭😭

Thanks for sharing your favorites. I loved the Untamed and King’s Avatar as well although it took me a while complete the Untamed. I kept needing a push to watch it all the way. Regarding the reviews, you’ve noted exactly where I’m coming from. MDL should do a better job with screening “critics”. I personally watch cdramas for what they are, pure entertainment. I absolutely enjoyed LOTFG but I find myself needing a push to watch Shadow Love and I don’t know why. It’s not because it’s a bad show but I can’t put my finger on it. I’m gonna push all the way to the end coz of Cheng Lei though. 😅😅😅😅

Have you read most of the negative reviews and how silly they sound? If you read my initial message, I clearly call out the hypocrisy in most of the reviews. You can’t claim DEPTH and NOVEL relevance when most dramas literally have the same exact tropes with very clear visual flaws but somehow, all those go past your heads when it’s your favorite drama. Have you ever bothered to note that in any of your reviews? Or when it’s your favorite drama do you claim, it’s very ENTERTAINING AND A MUST WATCH? Like I said earlier, I could have used a bit more romance in the show and the episodes were too short for my liking but it was a fantastic show and very entertaining. 😊😊😊

Exactly! They forget that directors have the artistic freedom to do whatever they want to do with those books once they get the rights to turn them into dramas.

Listen, I’m a romantic at heart and would have loved to see a little bit more romance but in as far as depth goes, it hit home with heavy topics like betrayal, loneliness, homelessness, desperation, sense of belonging, mulitiple identity. I could keep going. You actually feel He Yan’s pain when she asks dudu to remember her name. 😭😭😭😭

The haters of this show are the same who watch actors fall off cliffs, not die and are okay with it. They are the same who watch actors fly with visible harnesses and are okay with that but are on here talking about “they didn’t follow the novel”, “the story had no depth”. Miss me with all that BS. Name one book to drama adaptation that followed a novel to a T? I’ll wait. We watch these dramas for pure entertainment and this drama was very good in that aspect. For everyone coming on here after watching LOTFG for the first time, PLEASE NOTE THAT ALL NEGATIVE REVIEWS HAVE BEEN COMPROMISED!!! If you really wanna watch the show, go ahead and give it a watch.

I just discovered this show and OMG…pure perfection on every episode. THIS is the kind of slow burn I can get behind. The kind with a lot of longing and sexual tension as opposed to the kinds with endless bickering they forget it’s supposed to be a romance. I’m gonna rewatch this drama so hard, I’ll be subconsciously humming the soundtracks 14 months from now. ☺️☺️☺️
