Title Love for You Spoiler
Can anyone tell me (under a spoiler) how toxic the story is? Just need to know how mean the ccharacters get when…
It’s pretty toxic for about half of the main story. ML is the most toxic red flag although FL isn’t an angel either. Honestly, ML is quite cruel, stemming from a very physically abusive upbringing. While reading it, I was actually hoping they wouldn’t end up together, as I would never forgive someone treating me this. But, there is character development making it a very interesting story. I agree with some reviewers this novel is probably one of the best I have read. After reading Speed and Love first, I, thought it to be the best this novel does surpass it. I’m sure the drama will change quite a bit from the novel, already the synopsis is a bit different.

totally agree! but let's talk about the kissing scenes? why they don't just let the scene happen???? I dint read…
The kissing scenes were many, very sensual and long, FL was a very “curious” character. They eventually reached a different type of intimacy.
And I honestly believe they should have used more seasoned actors for this drama because it’s kind of silly the way they are going about it.

Well said, I Totally agree with you. I read the novel and that’s basically it. They are passionate young teens/adults who are passionate about each other and that’s what the novel is about. So yes the drama really did fall flat for the reasons you mentioned. The story without the “passion” is pretty basic, nothing authentic about it.
On Be Passionately in Love Jun 2, 2025
I will probably get some back lash for what I am about to say but it’s only my opinion. I see a lot of comments about the kissing etc. and it being ok because it’s a PG drama; And it’s understandable to see both sides. With that said, anyone who read the novel would be extremely disappointed. It started off exactly like the book but it has started to change little by little. The FL in the novel is seductive enjoys physical interactions very much. This novel is probably one of the ones that has the most“skinship” that I have read. Although these scenes, obviously, wouldn’t make it on screen it’s honestly the main focus of the story in the novel. And for me to see this drama with such a gorgeous ML be so simple it kind of is pointless. The story about them is pretty basic nothing worth making a drama about it. But hey it’s just my opinion I totally respect whoever really likes this drama. The ML really has really hit the nail with his acting and in the novel Chen Lu is gorgeous and so is An Yu.

she may be but this is not her best performance. she is in fact is not showing any of all of the things that you…
To be honest, that’s how she is portrayed in the novel. She is not very good at expressing her feelings and is quite stoic at the beginning. If they follow the novel characters she should get a lot better, personality wise. In the novel, ML is actually not as emotional as he is in this drama, at least that’s I portrayed his personality.
It’s quite nice to see him with more emotion on screen.

The synopsis for this drama doesn’t coincide with the novel. I am glad about that because I felt the novel was really flat and not very entertaining. It was was actually a dark story.

Title Be Passionately in Love Spoiler
"Chen Lu Zhou gives up his studies abroad and returns to China, enrolling in the same university as Xu Zhi." Novel…
In the Novel: No, he comes back due to family problems. He is happy to be back because he likes FL but does not necessarily come back because of her.

How's the novel? Is it good?
Well, basically their relationship starts as a “friends with benefits”. ML leaves abroad but comes back within a month and eventually the main leads begin their romance. In the novel once they are together there are small misunderstandings, but they get quickly resolved and don’t drag them. Both their parents don’t agree with the dating but don’t necessarily become troublesome. Their real relationship starts when they are in their first year of university , 3-4 months in.

I wonder if the FL actress is actually gonna kiss him 😂
In the novel, they kiss a lot. So if they follow the novel, it’s a MUST.

How's the novel? Is it good?
Yes, its good, cute. Nothing extraordinary. Smart cocky ML and smart rebellious FL. They navigate first love and it’s power to concede to feelings of desire and trust. Don’t know how much of the novel will be adapted to the drama though. The novel I really enjoyed was Speed and Love. I highly recommend it.

Not available in the US but is on YouTube. Honestly, it’s underrated. It’s a good drama with good acting. ML might not be the most handsome, probably because he’s more of natural than other celebrities that have a lot of plastic surgery. He played his role well even though he’s voice can get annoying at first. I gradually fell in love with the series. Watch it if you have a chance.

In my opinion there is no excuse for getting drunk and misleading someone, trauma or no trauma. It’s fiction…
Yes absolutely agree, that’s why I said it was just an opinion. I was just putting myself in the shoes of the ML and I would hate to be him and put in that situation. And just getting drunk in general doesn’t align with my views, as you mentioned. So many bad things happen with getting drunk but that’s reality, this is just a drama, so I don’t take it too seriously.

Title The Best Thing Spoiler
My take on tonight's episodes:Im actually glad she rejected him. She was so traumatized at what happened to her…
In my opinion there is no excuse for getting drunk and misleading someone, trauma or no trauma. It’s fiction so I get the trope but I don’t think it should be justified IRL.

The behavior of Fl is a big disappointment. She isn't mature to be in the relationship. Just because ex hurt her,…
I am in the minority and I totally agree with you. I put myself in the the ML’s place and I would be heart broken. Yes, she was drunk but how was he going to hold back from kissing someone that he truly likes, he tried but couldn’t. I probably couldn’t either, so she really has no excuse for breaking his heart. Did they both need to show self control, yes, but FL needed it more than ML. Don’t get me wrong I like the FL but it wasn’t right. I hope these angsty episodes are done soon because it would totally suck if they would drag it out. Just my opinion, it’s a fictional drama, so no need to overreact, it’s just for fun and pass the time.

just saw the clip of the kiss scene they cut from the show where she's kissing him first and he's clenching his…
I agree that scene was fire; But it was probably cut due to censorship. It was a very passionate scene but he basically left the next day and he wasn’t sure he was in love with her. So I think that’s what it was.

This is just my opinion. So, overall the series was very good, I wish I would’ve watched it sooner. The chemistry between the leads is great, you have two talented-beautiful actors that make this series a great watch. Rarely do cdramas make me laugh but this one DID. Now don’t get me wrong it’s a great series but it did have its drawbacks. 1. It had too much Chinese propaganda and 2. They normalized having a career to be more important than their children. Children should be more important than their career. It’s probably why so many kids are depressed and full of anxiety. But, maybe the meaning got lost in translation and that’s not the message they want to convey. So I basically loved the show until I hit episodes 29-32. But if those two things don’t bother you I’m sure you will love it.
