One thing I like about the FL's acting is that she does this pause thing whenever some enemy comes close to her to intimidate her. Other FLs would have them react in some otherway. She just pauses and waits for the moment to react.

The male winners of the exam competition are appointed into political officials directly. This saves them from the long and arduous process of taking the imperial exam. The original plan was so the prime minister Li could get his 2 sons into government early and then get make Ye Shi Jie their forever servant. Then take over his Ye family business and fund the other prince who is plotting a rebellion. Winning the exam also forms an alliance with that girl whose father is a general. This massive conspiracy just got destroyed by the FL. This was a huge arc.
