Tbh, i’d Rather chase My Heroic Husband than watch this version on SL....
Zhu Zhu the actress for BBD is also in episode 17 of heroic husband. She looks way prettier with her dress and makeup on that show. The costume designer really ruined her potential. BBD looks way older here too what the heck.

Is it just me or is Ou Si Ke getting way too much screen time? I watched through 31 and he's still not redeemable…
Oscar helps bring attention to Ning Rong Rong

A question for all those who are currently watching, Is it worth watching when you have already seen 2 seasons…
The thing is that despite the setbacks with Tang San on the show, it did a much better job than the anime with the other people's character development.

1. The 3 teachers here have a much more interesting cohesion to their relationship. In the anime, Flanders is basically the 3rd wheel, that is kicked aside whenever the master and Er Long are together.
2. Bibi Dong probably could have used a better costume. Bibi Dong has more depth than the anime version because of course that version is too early in the novel. Here we are already getting into some spoilers about her back story.
By the way the actress for Bi Bi Dong played the evil queen on the Duke mount deer from 2020 with basically the same weird costume. She dumped it for a prettier dress in the later episodes. So why didnt cloth designers realize this.
3. Ning Rong Rong seems to have a lot of screen time here. The actress is just that good. The anime Ning Rong Rong doesnt do any fights at all.
4. The master here is what the master should have been like. Giving us these slips of interactions with Bibi Dong shows us how hurt they both were. This is of course not in the anime at this stage
5. In the anime I have no idea when Dai Mu Bai hooked up with ZZQ. And ZZQ never gets any lines to speak at all. I dont even remember her voice. I also have no idea how Dai Mu Bai joined Shrek in the first place.

The final battle seems closer to the anime. Tang San actually used his martial arts for once.

Hmmnnn to tell you honestly. The continuation of this drama (in anime/donghua) is all about cultivation of tang…
The dark part of slaughter city is basically like battle through heavens where Xiao Yan ended up fighting in that underground arena. It's doable.

Tang San just needs to be more mature in season 2. It's still salvageable.

Might've been the most anticlimactic scene I've ever watched in a drama. I thought Tang Hao was going to have…
Yeah but Bibi Dong in the show is already being alluded to be on the path of becoming a god with the following

1. She killed multiple title duolous easily, thought to be impossible at her level
2. She can make Tang San reveal his hammer by force which was thought to be impossible by the master
3. She knows some kind of secret about the creation of the continent.

So they could have teased us a little about that

I was OK with the story even tho' it strayed from the anime. There were light hearted moments and some mystery…
If they combine tang san's mother, the island, the slaughter city, Bibi Dont's evil god transformation into some mysterious place it would still be cool. Bibi Dong here mentioned a hidden secret to the spirit beasts and a connection to the spirit masters. So there is still some creativity there.

Legend of chosen is different genre though. Fight break sphere is before wu dong qian kun and before the great ruler. But the 3 shows are not connected at all. The novels are connected of course. There is like a one time reference of the 2 main leads in the other 2 stories in the great ruler.

The main villain in the great ruler was ranked higher than the villains in the other 2, since this is the final bad. But in the shows it seems the villain in fight breaks sphere had a more imposing figure. That show had a smaller CGI budget but they gave depth to the villain.

The great ruler villain basically looks like Sauron with the armor and guess what, he also has a CGI big flaming eye ball in the sky.

No he's not overpowered. He has power but mostly relies his brains to fight stronger opponents.

Legend of awakening
Main lead has the looks and smart sof sasuke but has a seal on his hidden power which was placed there by his parents, who were killed right after he was born by one of disciples of the main sect . So yeah naruto. The other male lead is like sasuke with all these daddy issues and betrays the good guy to join an orochimaru like guy who experiments on people and a madara like guy who wants the main lead's power. The second lead also does a lot of talk no jutsu, which ends up failing most of the time. Yes they all also use sharingan and genjutsu too.

Oh yeah there is a sakura like character too but she's ok. The main character's teacher is a sleazy guy like jiraya and he is involved with a female teacher of the group like Tsunade.
Lots and lots naruto similarities

His dad told him to use his hammer to protect the people he cared about, which is more important than hiding the hammer which is for his own safety. The people he cared about trump his own well being.

You didnt like Ning Rong Rong? Her anime character was always kind of one dimensional either spoiled or sister like to Tang San. Seems like in this drama she took the spotlight here. Her and Oscar's romance seems to be on par with the anime/novel version.

Legend of awakening
Legend of awakening reminds me of naruto where sasuke and naruto roles are mixed and matched. Even the BGM sounds like naruto battle themes.

Tang San trying to open an electrified cage with his vines while facing his back to the enemy was the stupidest scene for his character. That scene alone pretty much ruinedTang San for good.

This would have been the perfect time to use his hammer cause he's got to protect his most important people now, which was one of the things his dad wanted him to use the hammer for. Or maybe just use his intelligence to unlock the cage somehow. But nope brutal force is the way to go.

I can pretty much forgive everything they did to him but that scene keeps coming back.

The Great Ruler being the third of the battle through heavens trilogy has incredible palaces made with CGI, architectures and fortresses. Pretty awesome scenes. The choreograph fight scenes sucked though. There was also the NTR crap near the end.

On Douluo Continent Feb 22, 2021
Other than TangSan's criticism, the other problem is that the background setting is really ugly. Probably low budget again

Tangsan's village is basically his house in the middle of a haunted forest surrounded by monsters. No one else apparently lives there except during the awakening ceremony where they went to a different house. In the anime you had a nice contrast between other kids goofing off while he studies his xuantian arts and taking care of his dad.

Shrek school is run down and poor that makes sense, but why is everywhere else a dump too. It's like a third world country everywhere they go. The streets are full of homeless people in rags. There are no CGI buildings. No special sets.
It's like Wu Dong Qian Kun all over again, where the main characters look like a bunch cave people.

Soul Hall is supposed to be like the vatican city on steroids the size of a mountain. Here in the show it looks like a fortress of skull mountain again full of cave people.
