In the UK, Netflix lacks an LGBTQ+ tag. I went on Queer eye and it didn't have that tag and then I went on it with a VPN and Canadian IP and it had a an LGBTQ+ series tag.
How does a sad ending make the story of a romance into NOT a romance? And why are you expecting that?
So generally a genre romance needs to have a HEA (Happy Ever After) or a HFN (Happy For Now). This is why the genre for Romeo and Juliet is tragedy rather than romance. That doesn't mean the relationship wasnt romantic, it's just about the genre.
I'm expecting a sad ending because of the description on Netflix and also the tags in the UK.
It doesn't have the LGBT+ tag on mine that other people are seeing
I just had a look at the tags for Queer Eye and with a UK IP it didn't have any LGBTQ+ tag, but with a Canadian IP it had the LGBTQ+ series tag. So it seems like the UK just lacks an LGBTQ+ tag.
To add to the bromance vs romance discourse, I think there will be romance between the two main characters, but I don't think the show's genre will be romance because I'm expecting a sad ending.
This is based on the Netflix description and the content warning for suicide (although that may not be about the ending).
Also, do not expect there to be sex because there is no content warning for sex, sex references, or sexual images and UK Netflix usually has some or all of these if a show or film has sex.
I don't see it listed as LGBTQ+ on my Netflix 🤔
What tags you see in more details is location dependent. In the UK there is no LGBTQ+ tag under more details, but when I used a VPN with a Canadian IP address there was.

UK. I just used a VPN (with a Canadian IP) and it changed the tags. It added 'LGBT+ series' and got rid of the content warnings. I wish I could upload a screenshot to show you. Hopefully they add the LGBT+ series tag to the UK one ssoon.
Can people please remember that the tags you see when you click 'more' depends on your location.

It might be location dependent. Hopefully, they update it where I am because when I click the link it just says:

Sadly it doesn't for me. It might be location dependent, but hopefully they update it where I am. When I click the link it just says:

I looked on Netflix to see if they added a release date and in the warning section it says 'suicide'. Was that there the whole time because I don't remember it before?
it probably wasn't the reason, and no, I don't think so, not to mention this is not American drama, so it doesn't…
Okay thanks so much that's reassuring. Caus from the comments I had been reading, people thought this would lead to fewer LGBT+ shows in general being released on Netflix before the acquisition, and not specifically just the American ones.
I've seen people speculating that in order to do the Warner Bros acquisition, they are trying to appeal to the Trump administration and that was why they did that.
is it real ? so it's not a romance ? it is still tag as LGBTQ on Netflix🤔 honestly if it's a drama about friendship,…
Maybe I’m being delulu and this only addresses point 2, but could it be the case that they are in a romantic relationship but it ends badly so the genre wouldn’t be classed as a romance. Like how Romeo and Juliet is technically not a romance but rather a tragedy because it doesn’t have a HEA. But idk how genres for shows work compared to books.
I’m confused. Studio dragon said that it will release in December. Is that just for the Japanese version of Netflix? My Netflix just says ‘limited series coming’ not even ‘coming soon’
If it is actually 2026 when it will be released why would the studio have said December 2025 just to change it a few days later

Could this have an effect on this show too?
